In the context of the exhibition A concert of minimal music by Sander De Keere Thursday 19th May at 7.30pm  Sander De Keere, Primitive Structures album
Sander De Keere (Ghent, 1992) is a Belgian radio host, composer and musician of minimal classical music. In January 2022 Sander released his debut album Primitive Structures on the label W.E.R.F. records, with fresh insights on the boundary between conceptual and repetitive patterns. His musical practice balances between composing and performing, repetitive and the stillness, conceptual and narrative music. His performance includes a new composition for a solo flute by Liesbeth Peelman based on one of the minimalist sculptures of Fred Sandback. “To me, Fred Sandback’s sculptural studies really feel like looking at music. The lines create a rhythm and give a new experience of the space around it. I immediately felt the inspiration to write a new composition about this special experience” For this concert, Sander De Keere will invite other guest musicians as well, for the performance of Fading Notes (Ciska Vandelanotte – solo violin) and Music for 2 synthesizers (Emmy Wils – piano). The exhibition includes artworks shown in historic exhibitions and other sculptures never previously exhibited. It traces the different periods of the artist’s oeuvre, featuring linear sculptures in acrylic yarn, elastic cord, and steel rod. The artist conceived a relationship to spaces seemingly both dematerialized and entirely concrete, highlighting planes and volumes achieved with great economy of means. Sandback invested the void while connecting the floor, ceiling, and walls, inscribing all these elements. In all his work, Sandback combined the exactitude of the physical sciences with the delicacy of corporeal affect. An additional monumental artwork is presented in the Building Flagey in Ixelles. This exhibition and its publication have been realized by Foundation CAB in cooperation with the Fred Sandback Estate and Archive. _____ La Fondation CAB a l’honneur de présenter Fred Sandback au cœur d’une exposition personnelle de sculptures et de reliefs du célèbre artiste américain (1943-2003). C’est avec un grand plaisir que nous vous annonçons notre participation à la Drawing Now Art Fair de Paris, du jeudi 19 au dimanche 22 mai.
Pour cette 15ème édition, nous avons fait le choix de présenter deux artistes espagnols, Miguel Sbastida (1989) et Pep Vidal (1980). Deux artistes qui explorent et exposent de manière poétique notre environnement, sa matérialité et la science qui le régit.
Nous vous attendons nombreuses et nombreux sur le stand n°PR2.

It is with great pleasure that we announce our participation in the Drawing Now Art Fair in Paris, from Thursday, May 19th to Sunday, May 22nd.
For this 15th edition, we have chosen to present two Spanish artists, Miguel Sbastida (1989) and Pep Vidal (1980). These two artists explore and expose in a poetic way our environment, its materiality and the science that governs it.

FOCUS – (un)common grounds at iMAL
Overtoon and Werktank commissioned Josue Aliendre Carvani, Natalia BarczyÅska and Valentina Bianchi from Curatorial Studies at KASK to present an exhibition at iMAL with artists from their pool. Opening THIS Saturday 14 May between 17:00 and 20:00. Afterwards the Emerging Sound Art showcase (sold out) is presented at Q-O2 in the same building. VISITORS PROGRAMME Overtoon teams up with STUK to invite 10 international sound art curators and programmers to visit exhibitions, showcases, studio presentations and performances of in total 19 artists related to Overtoon. This programme is realised with the support of Creative Europe. VICA PACHECO Vica Pacheco's project Animacy will progress in different stages. This year she's developed a stage performance / concert which features many of her ceramic creations as sound sources for electronic music. Overtoon will present her concert in the Portuguese festival Jardins Efémeros in July. This month she presents the show at the Hear Here Festival in a double bill with Maika Garnica, and at the Emerging Sound Art showcase organized by Q-O2, Musica and STUK. The sound sculptures will also be on display in the iMAL exhibition (un)common grounds. Hear Here Live: Friday 20 May at Cas-co, 20:00 RESIDENCIES The residencies of Kunrad, Clarice Calvo-Pinsolle and Wendy Van Wynsberghe continue into May. Their work-in-progress will be part of the studio visit programme we host for a number of invited curators. ONGOING EVENTS The first edition of Hear Here has gathered plenty of attention for sound arts, with reports and interviews in mainstream media.
