In the context of our Artist-in-Residence’s programme, Fondation CAB welcomes for the first time a composer of contemporary minimal music. Sander De Keere (Ghent, 1992) is a Belgian radio host, composer and musician of minimal classical music. In January 2022 Sander released his debut album Primitive Structures on the label W.E.R.F. records, with fresh insights on the boundary between conceptual and repetitive patterns. His musical practice balances between composing and performing, repetitive and the stillness, conceptual and narrative music. For his concert, Sander will be joined by musicians, including saxophonist Maarten Vergauwen. Inspired by the exhibition space and the collection, they explore the dialogue between musical compositions and conceptual works. Practical informations : _______ In het kader van ons Residencies programma verwelkomt Fondation CAB voor het eerst een componist van hedendaagse minimal music. Sander De Keere (Gent, 1992) is een Belgische radiopresentator, muzikant en componist van klassieke en minimalistische repetitieve muziek. In januari 2022 verscheen zijn debuutalbum Primitive Structures op het label W.E.R.F. records. Een zoektocht naar wat minimal music vandaag kan betekenen: minder in een wereld van steeds meer. Primitive Structures brengt een antwoord op de grens tussen conceptuele en repetitieve patronen. Voor zijn concert, nodigt Sander een aantal muzikanten uit, waaronder saxofonist Maarten Vergauwen. Geïnspireerd door de tentoonstellingsruimte en de collectie, Zij onderzoeken de dialoog tussen muzikale composities en conceptuele werken. Praktische informatie : _______ Dans le cadre de notre programme d’artiste en résidence, la Fondation CAB accueille pour la première fois un compositeur de musique minimale contemporaine. Sander De Keere (Gand, 1992) est un animateur de radio belge, compositeur et musicien de musique classique minimale. En janvier 2022, Sander a sorti son premier album Primitive Structures sur le label W.E.R.F. records, avec de nouvelles perspectives sur la frontière entre les modèles conceptuels et répétitifs. Sa pratique musicale oscille entre la composition et l’interprétation, la répétition et l’immobilité, la musique conceptuelle et narrative. Pour son concert, Sander est accompagné de musiciens, dont le saxophoniste Maarten Vergauwen. Inspirés par l’espace d’exposition et la collection, ils explorent le dialogue entre compositions musicales et œuvres conceptuelles. ON THE LOOKOUT explores how variations of colour can stimulate human behaviour. This exhibition highlights the immersive and immaterial qualities of each artwork : while we investigate the space, we deepen our relationship with each of them. The dialogues and tensions created between the colourful installations and the architecture intensify our attention. With each moment being favorable to observe fleeting occurrences, an expanded time devoted to these encounters enhances our experiences. Thus, by discerning several states of the same work, we also sharpen our perceptive adjustments. _______ Fondation CAB presenteert een tentoonstelling waarin curator Gregory Lang de ruimte van de stichting omvormt tot een plaats voor nieuwe experimenten van internationale en in Brussel gevestigde kunstenaars. ON THE LOOKOUT verkent de stimulatie van menselijk gedrag door middel van verschillende kleurvariaties. De werken in deze tentoonstelling worden gekenmerkt door hun immersieve en immateriële karakter. Als we ons verplaatsen, gaan we een relatie met ze aan. De dialogen en spanningen die tussen de kleurrijke installaties en de architectuur ontstaan, versterken onze aandacht. De tijd die aan deze ontmoetingen wordt besteed, draagt bij tot de kwaliteit van onze ervaringen, waarbij elk moment gunstig is om microgebeurtenissen waar te nemen. Dit ensemble brengt ons in staat om verschillende toestanden van hetzelfde werk in een situatie te onderscheiden en scherpt de finesse aan van onze perceptieve aanpassingen. _______ La Fondation CAB présente une exposition dans laquelle le commissaire Gregory Lang envisage l’espace de la fondation comme le support d’expérimentations nouvelles pour des artistes internationaux et de la scène bruxelloise. ON THE LOOKOUT (À l’affût) explore la stimulation des comportements humains à travers différentes variations de la couleur. Les œuvres en présence se distinguent par un caractère à la fois immersif et immatériel. Au gré de nos déplacements, nous entrons en relation avec elles. Les dialogues et les tensions ainsi créés entre les installations colorées et l’architecture intensifient notre attention. Le temps consacré à ces rencontres contribue à la qualité de nos expériences vécues, chaque moment étant favorable pour observer des micro-événements. Cet ensemble met en jeu notre capacité à discerner plusieurs états d’une même œuvre en situation et aiguise la finesse de nos ajustements perceptifs.
