On aura des fers à souder, de l'étain, de la bobine de câble…

Ramenez vos jacks qui marchent plus et on essaiera de les réparer ensemble…

Ramenez aussi vos propres fer à souder, récup de cables qui marchent pas…

SEPTEMBRE 2023

Après un premier événement organisé par Camille Lévy Sarfati à KADIST Paris en avril dernier, le deuxième volet de ce programme “Double Takes” se tiendra du 20 au 24 septembre au studio El Warcha à Tunis. 🗓️

« Je bois le désordre du monde »* est une invitation à explorer le potentiel de la création et du collectif face au pessimisme. La programmation, qui comprend des œuvres vidéo de la collection KADIST, d’artistes locaux et de la collection Lumbung, sera enrichie par des conférences, des interventions musicales et des ateliers. L’événement vise à créer des espaces de dialogue et d’échange, dans un contexte de turbulences et d’incertitudes, tant en Tunisie qu’à l’étranger.

Une partie du programme sera spécialement dédiée au jeune public du quartier du Kram, en partenariat avec les associations Sentiers et El Warcha, tandis que le reste de l’événement sera ouvert à tous, en français et en anglais.

* Le titre du programme est extrait d’un poème écrit par Emné Nassereddine dans La Danse du Figuier (2021)

Koki Tanaka x El Warcha : “Collectif et convivialité comme projet artistique et politique”

PARTENAIRES

El Warcha est un collectif et atelier basé à Tunis, fondé en 2016. Son équipe crée du mobilier urbain temporaire, des installations artistiques et organise des événements publics pour promouvoir l’éducation pratique et les actions civiques. Le projet s’est étendu à Londres en 2018, à Lisbonne en 2020, et a été invité à des expositions internationales en 2022.

Sentiers-Massarib est une association culturelle à Tunis créée en 2017. Sa mission est de diffuser la culture cinématographique dans des lieux marginalisés en projetant des films, et d’organiser des ateliers de création cinématographique. Ils considèrent la création artistique, en particulier cinématographique, comme un acte politique et esthétique.

Collectif BOUMA est dédié à l’image depuis 2022 en Tunisie et en France. Fondé par Saif Fradj, Auréa Jabeur et Cyrine Ghrir, le collectif a participé à des expositions et festivals en Tunisie, en France et en Égypte, dont “Personal Diaries” leur première publication combinant photographie, mots et musique.

COMMISSAIRE

Camille Lévy Sarfati est une commissaire d’exposition et cinéaste basée à Tunis. Elle est l’ancienne directrice artistique du 32bis à Tunis. Diplômée de Sciences Po Paris, elle s’est intéressée aux questions d’ethno-nationalisme et de minorité, ce qui l’a amenée à réaliser un documentaire explorant les mémoires conflictuelles autour de l’histoire juive de la Tunisie.

Elle est également l’autrice de plusieurs textes et articles, publiés notamment dans la Revue des Mondes musulmans et de la Méditerranée. Sa pratique curatoriale est centrée sur les pratiques contemporaines tunisiennes et nord-africaines, en relation avec lesquelles elle a organisé différents programmes éducatifs et d’accompagnement. En 2022, elle a curaté les expositions Can We Sing Together Again, Old Friend? de l’artiste sud-africaine Thania Petersen, et Injurier le Soleil au 32bis à Tunis.

DANS LA COLLECTION KADIST 🔎

Parmi les oeuvres projetées figurera One Two Three Four de Zhou Tao (1976, Chine), artiste reconnu pour ses films expérimentaux qui remettent en question les récits et les espaces conventionnels. Son travail explore des interactions subtiles et humoristiques, brouillant la frontière entre la réalité et la fiction. Zhou Tao intègre de manière transparente le fonctionnement de la caméra dans la vie quotidienne, reliant divers environnements tels que des paysages naturels ou des décors urbains, en passant par des chantiers de construction ou des terrains vagues.

Following the first event organised by Camille Lévy Sarfati at KADIST Paris last April, the second part of this “Double Takes” programme will be held from 20 to 24 September at the El Warcha studio in Tunis. 🗓️

“I Drink the World’s Tumult “* is an invitation to explore the potential of collective making against pessimism. The programme, which includes video works from the KADIST collection, local artists and the Lumbung collection, will be enriched by lectures, music and workshops. The event aims to create spaces for dialogue and exchange, in a context of turbulence and uncertainty, both in Tunisia and abroad.

Part of the programme will be specially dedicated to young audiences in the Kram district, in partnership with the Sentiers and El Warcha associations, while the rest of the event will be open to all, in French and in English.

* The title of the programme is taken from a poem written by Emné Nassereddine in La Danse du Figuier (2021).

PARTNERS

El Warcha is a Tunis-based collective and workshop founded in 2016. Its team create temporary street furniture, art installations and organise public events to promote practical education and civic action. The project expanded to London in 2018, Lisbon in 2020, and has been invited to international exhibitions in 2022.

Sentiers-Massarib is a cultural association in Tunis created in 2017. Its mission is to spread film culture in marginalised places by screening films and organising film-making workshops. They see artistic creation, particularly cinematography, as a political and aesthetic act.

BOUMA Collective has been dedicated to the image since 2022 in Tunisia and France. Founded by Saif Fradj, Auréa Jabeur and Cyrine Ghrir, the collective has taken part in exhibitions and festivals in Tunisia, France and Egypt, including “Personal Diaries” their first publication combining photography, words and music.

CURATOR

Camille Lévy Sarfati is a curator and filmmaker based in Tunis. She is the former artistic director of 32bis in Tunis. A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, her interest in ethno-nationalism and minority issues led her to make a documentary exploring the conflicting memories surrounding Tunisia’s Jewish history. She is also the author of several texts and articles, published notably in the Revue des Mondes musulmans et de la Méditerranée.

Her curatorial practice focuses on contemporary Tunisian and North African practices, with which she has organised various educational and accompanying programmes. In 2022, she curated the exhibitions Can We Sing Together Again, Old Friend? by the South African artist Thania Petersen, and Injurier le Soleil at 32bis in Tunis.

FROM THE KADIST COLLECTION 🔎

Among the works shown will be One Two Three Four by Zhou Tao (1976, China), an artist renowned for his experimental films that challenge conventional narratives and spaces. His work explores subtle and humorous interactions, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction. Zhou Tao seamlessly integrates the workings of the camera into everyday life, linking diverse environments such as natural landscapes, urban settings, construction sites and wastelands.

PUBLIQ et 50° NORD – 3° EST sont associés depuis janvier 2022 dans la co-coordination du projet Res-sentir / Op de Tast.

Porté par un comité de pilotage composé de médiateur•rice•s adhérent•e•s aux deux organisations, ce projet s’est composé de temps d’expérimentation et de recherche-action dont l’objectif est d’enrichir les pratiques et de développer des expériences communes sur l’inclusion des usagers des lieux culturels dans les arts vivants et visuels.

S’appuyant sur la recherche-action, suivie par Béatrice Madiot, maître de conférences à l’UPJV en psychologue sociale, cette journée d’étude propose de venir rendre compte du projet.

Mêlant tables rondes et workshops, elle portera tout particulièrement sur le sujet de l’inclusivité par les sens.

August Interjection: REGISTRATION: Notes after Christina Sharpe’s Ordinary Notes by Rosa-Johan Uddoh

Rosa-Johan Uddoh (b. Croydon) is an interdisciplinary artist working towards radical self-love, inspired by Black feminist practice and writing. Through performance, writing, film and multimedia installation, she explores the effects of specific places, objects and characters in popular culture, on self-formation. Using humour, parody and collaboration, she appropriates popular media formats to critically engage people often excluded from Art. Rosa was shortlisted for the Jarman Award 2022 for her film-making. Her work has been profiled in publications including Art Monthly, New York Times and Nordic Art Review. Her first book Practice Makes Perfect was published by Book Works and Focal Point Gallery in 2022.

September Interjection: The Eternal Pursuit of the Unattainable by Racheal Crowther

Racheal Crowther (b. 1991, Dublin, Ireland) is an artist who lives & works in London. Her practice spans across sculpture, moving image, scent & writing. She holds a BA (Fine Art & Critical Thinking) from Goldsmiths, University of London & is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma at Royal Academy Schools, London.

De winning van zand in Heerlen zorgt ervoor dat het gebied van de groeve op veel verschillende manieren in beweging is. In reactie op de vraag “Where are we now?” is Luuk Smits ingedoken op dit veranderende landschap. Op dit moment ontwikkelt Smits een intuïtief onderzoek naar deze plek door het zand te volgen. Dat leidt enerzijds tot een verkenning van de geschiedenis en toekomst van de plek, maar ook tot een speelse ontdekking van de kenmerken en materialen die er te vinden zijn.

(ENG) The winning of sand in Heerlen causes the area of the quarry to change in many different ways. In response to the question “Where are we now?” Luuk Smits has delved into this changing landscape. Currently, Smits is developing an intuitive investigation of this place by following the sand. This leads on the one hand to an exploration of the history and future of the place, but also to a playful discovery of the features and materials found there.

Herzliche Einladung zur feierlichen Eröffnung der Ausstellung AKUMULATORY von Marcin Dudek diesen Sonntag, 17. September von 15 bis 18 Uhr.

Marcin Dudek verwebt Erinnerungen an seine Jugend mit einer kritischen Betrachtung der gesellschaftlichen Abhängigkeit von Spektakel, Macht und Aggression. Sein Werk umfasst Installationen, Performances, Skulptur und Malerei. Dabei verwendet Dudek gefundene und gerettete Materialien, die er in einem Anti-Readymade-Ansatz auseinandernimmt und neu arrangiert.

Im Dialog mit der Architektur des IKOBs lädt AKUMULATORY die Besucher:innen auf eine Reise zu verschiedenen Szenen und Schauplätzen aus der Vergangenheit des Künstlers ein. Die Ausstellung setzt damit Dudeks Serie von „Memory Boxes“ [Erinnerungskisten] fort: maßstabsgetreue Nachbildungen von oftmals am Rande der Gesellschaft angesiedelten Räumen, die von einer bestimmten Identität oder Erfahrung erzählen.

Galerie Greta Meert is pleased to present Ne pas laver le sable jaune, Edith Dekyndt's fourth solo exhibition at the gallery, conceived in response to a residency in the north of the enigmatic island of Ibiza.

It was within the island's idyllic conditions, and the context of the 'Summer of Love’ of 1968, that hippie culture found refuge, away from any form of US imperialism, far from the shadow cast by the Vietnam War. Less documented is the quiet transition of a number of the movement's protagonists into entrepreneurs and other actors within Silicon Valley’s environment of technological radicalism.

It's precisely at this intersection that Ne pas laver le sable jaunepresents assemblages of natural elements – wood, earth, textiles, plants – and timeless crafts – crocheting, knitting, weaving – in dialogue with works made with, for example, experimental 3D printing.

Working with video, sculpture, installation, sound and drawing, Edith Dekyndt addresses timeless questions about time and space. Using this wide range of techniques, she makes transient physical phenomena and momentary incidents visible, creating a conceptually rich and materially engaged visual language. Paying homage to what is neither clean nor pure, her work functions as a translation of time into materiality and vice versa, a study of the subtle variations in the fabric of our tangible world.

Galerie Greta Meert is pleased to present Richard Tuttle's sixth solo exhibition with the gallery, 18×24, introducing a series of wall pieces created in his studio in New Mexico.

Forms – shapes, gestures, and written words – drawn on sheets of 18×24 inch paper, are rendered, by the artist’s very personal methodology, in styrofoam, into works evading definition as sculpture, painting, collage, installation, or assemblage, transcending their humble materials into a mirage-like abstractions, lyrical gestures in rich, often monochromatic color.

His work is widely recognised for its ability to evoke poetry from the ordinary, concerning the myriad ways in which light, scale, color, and systems of meaning flow from his art into the world; that art can be a fundamental means of influencing life itself.

Clara Brörmann (°1982, Duisburg, DE) lives and works in Berlin. She had solo exhibitions at R16 (Berlin), Tick Tack (Antwerp), Shiavo Zoppelli (Milan) and Nicelle Beauchene Gallery (New York), among others.

Her paintings and drawings offer the viewer the chance to follow the process of creation of the works. During a longer process of construction and deconstruction, a layered painting emerges: she constructs and deletes, covers or removes paint. She sketches and rejects until she has created a unity of colour, shape and material. Vivid lines, shifted areas of colour and traces of the working process guide the eye through the artworks. The results are paintings and drawings with abstract, often geometric compositions that exude a multidimensional materiality and strong physical presence.

Joke Hansen (°1979, Bilzen, BE) lives in Bilzen and works in Hasselt. She had group exhibitions in Z33 (Hasselt), SMAK (Gent) and Julianus (Tongeren).

With each new painting or series, Joke Hansen sets ground rules for herself. For example: at least one oblique plane, at least one eye and no more than two corners. In recent years, she has made this game of strangely shaped canvases and cut-outs her own, and it constantly directs her towards new quests. The cut-outs and, in parallel, the oval-, circular- or elliptical- shaped elements on the canvas, imply an extra dimension, a portal to another world or a next level. For the first time, in collaboration with scenographer Joris Perdieus, she translates this ‘boogie’ into a special experience, which automatically turns the exhibition into a total installation.

In het kader van onze huidige tentoonstelling Dóra Maurer-SUMUS-We Are Together vindt op 13 september de online discussie Works and Words + Afterthoughts 1979-2023 plaats. Op 22 september om 17:00 uur geeft curator Eszter Szakacs de laatste rondleiding door de tentoonstelling en op 23 september vieren we de finissage van de tentoonstelling, met het gesprek Informal Art Infrastructures During the Cold War.

Op 16 september verwelkomen we MADEYOULOOK en Yazan Khalili voor hun gesprek The Land in the Landscape. Ondertussen is de eindejaarsboekenverkoop in de (web)winkel van de Appel van start gegaan. Daarna maken we ons op voor Hope is a discipline, het eindproject van het Curatorial Programme 2023, dat op 5 oktober zijn deuren opent.

Dóra Maurer–SUMUS–We Are Together

We bereiken momenteel de laatste weken van de tentoonstelling Dóra Maurer-SUMUS-We Are Together, samengesteld door Eszter Szakács. De tentoonstelling presenteert archiefmateriaal en experimentele filmwerken van kunstenaar Dóra Maurer (1937), waarvan ze sommige als SUMUS bestempelde, met als doel het zelfgefinancierde/DIY- en samenwerkingsaspect van haar filmmaken aan te geven. De laatste rondleiding door de tentoonstelling door curator Eszter Szakacs vindt plaats op 22 september om 17:00. Op 23 september vieren we de finissage van de tentoonstelling, met een gesprek tussen Eszter Szakács, Megan Hoetger en Christa-Maria Lerm Hayes.

Het meeste archiefmateriaal uit de jaren 1960-1980 dat in de tentoonstelling Dóra Maurer-SUMUS-We Are Together te zien is, komt uit het archief van de Appel. Dóra Maurer en Tibor Gáyor hebben op verschillende manieren bijgedragen aan de tentoongestelde tentoonstellingscatalogi en publicaties: soms als deelnemende kunstenaars, soms ook als achtergrondorganisatoren of als mede-initiatiefnemers. Deze belangrijke publicaties bevinden zich in het Archief van de Appel dankzij de verzameling en het onderzoek van de Appel voorafgaand aan de Works and Words “internationale kunstmanifestatie” van 1979, waar Dóra Maurer een van de deelnemende kunstenaars was.

Het online evenement draait om Works and Words, waarbij de sprekers de paradoxen, moeilijkheden en de betekenis van dit project vandaag de dag bespreken, vooral in Oost-Europa. De discussie wil ook een begin maken met de herwaardering van de geopolitieke dynamiek van de “Oost-West” Koude Oorlog en de gevolgen daarvan voor vandaag. Dit evenement vindt plaats op Zoom en wordt gestreamd op ons YouTube-kanaal. Iedereen is welkom om deel te nemen, registratie is niet nodig. Op 23 september van 16:00 tot 18:00 uur vindt het gesprek I nformal Art Infrastructures During the Cold War plaats met Megan Hoetger en Christa-Maria Lerm Hayes. Vanuit de organiserende activiteiten van de SUMUS groep onder leiding van kunstenaars Dóra Maurer en Tibor Gáyor, bespreekt deze sessie van theorievorming de informele en alternatieve infrastructuren die kunstenaars bouwden voor de circulatie en distributie van kunstwerken en films tussen de jaren 1960 en 1980 in, en tussen, de verschillende delen van Europa. Iedereen is welkom om deel te nemen aan dit gesprek en de finissage met ons te vieren, aanmelden is niet nodig.

De Appel is verheugd Molemo, Nare en Yazan te ontvangen voor een gesprek dat is begonnen tijdens de verschillende majelises en werkgroepen van documenta fifteen over het verbeelden en verbeelden van landschappen. Wat zijn de manieren van visuele taalvorming die de veelvoud aan relaties met het land representeren, binnen contexten van bezetting, deterritorialisering, ecologische ineenstorting en koloniale erfenissen en geschenken? Imag(in)ing the land is een discussie over strategieën voor de beeldvorming van het landschap en de verbeelding van een betere toekomst, met name door middel van film, foto, tekst en geluid. Ga met ons mee voor een gesprek tussen MADEYOULOOK en kunstenaar Yazan Khalili over deze en andere vragen over het landschap. Dit evenement vindt plaats tussen 17:00 en 18:30. Save the Date: Hope is a discipline

Hope is a discipline brengt mensen samen die de politiek van vriendschap onderzoeken: hoe creëren we ruimte? Hoe gaan we om met solidariteit? Het project is gebaseerd op Mariame Kaba’s idee van “hoop is een discipline”. Daarmee bedoelt zij dat hoop die niet slechts een gevoel of een horizon is, maar een dagelijkse praktijk die we samen aangaan, gebruikmakend van de middelen die we al hebben. Hope is a discipline krijgt vorm als een reeks bijeenkomsten – films, jamsessies, leesgroepen, luister- en kooksessies – waarbij de de Aula van de Appel wordt omgetoverd tot een huiskamer voor het afscheid van Nieuw-West. Doe mee van 5 oktober tot 23 november 2023, samen met onder andere kunstenaars en collectieven Arts Collaboratory, Jihan El-Tahri, Ola Hassanain, other indias, Metro54, five grey parrots en Tropical Tap Water. Marres nodigt je met liefde uit voor de feestelijke opening van de tentoonstelling Goodbye to Love: Conversation of all those whose lips are sealed.

De tentoonstelling Goodbye to Love, met werk van Hyesoo Park, Jinju Lee en James Webb is gewijd aan de wijze waarop we verdwaald zijn geraakt in onze wereld, op drift raken met onze herinneringen, zoeken naar ankers, omgaan met eenzaamheid en verlangen naar troost.

We hopen je dan te verwelkomen!

Deel jouw verhalen over de liefde en doe mee aan deze bijzondere tentoonstelling!

Kom naar Marres tijdens Festival Maas! op zaterdag 9 en zondag 10 september. In dat weekend kun je items met bijbehorend verhaal inleveren die te zien zullen zijn in het liefdesarchief Memorabilia of a Broken Heart van de Koreaanse kunstenaar Hyesoo Park.

Dat album waarbij je het niet droog houdt, de tandenborstel van je ex, of een lief briefje dat je altijd hebt bewaard. Ze worden voorzien van een label, zodat je je memorabilia later ook weer terug krijgt. Als je wilt, wordt jouw bijdrage anoniem getoond in de tentoonstelling.

Kom langs en laat je verrassen door onze nieuwe tentoonstellingen, workshops en evenementen en maak kennis met Extended: de jongerenafdeling van Marres en de Jan van Eyck Academie.

Je vindt Marres ook bij Bassin Beach op zaterdag 9 september tijdens Festival Maas! (Hier kun je alleen je liefdesverhalen kwijt, geen memorabilia.)

Het Plantiarchaat zal voortleven!

Zondag 3 september was de laatste dag dat Plantiarchy te zien was: de tentoonstelling die alle kamers van Marres op speelse wijze overwoekerde en waarbij de plantenwereld het voor het zeggen had.

♻️ Makers en geïnteresseerden mochten pulpcreaties uit de tentoonstelling mee naar huis nemen voor een tweede (eigenlijk derde) leven. Wat overblijft van het Plantiarchaat, wordt gerecycled en hergebruikt door kunstenaarscollectief Sunflower Soup.

Heel veel dank aan alle enthousiaste bezoekers, iedereen die heeft meegepulpt in de workshops of op een andere manier heeft bijgedragen aan deze wonderlijke en collectieve tentoonstelling. Iedereen is Plantiarchy!

Dans le cadre de nos conférences et de nos cours, se tiendra le 19 septembre notre Meet & Drink, soirée conviviale dédiée à la présentation des thématiques abordées cet automne à l’Institut et à la rencontre des conférencier.ère.s invité.e.s. Avec notamment : Ludovic Recchia, directeur-conservateur de Kéramis, pour son cours sur l’histoire de la céramique, et la chercheuse Anne Reverseau pour son cours dédié à la carte postale.

Cette soirée vous permettra également de découvrir les deux premiers titres de la nouvelle collection 𝘯𝘰𝘯-𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘦́ éditée par l’ISELP et CFC-Éditions : Elles sont cassées, elles marchent encore de Jot Fau et Mondes parallèles d’Adrien Lucca.

Exposition : Maen Florin

La sculpteure Maen Florin (BE, 1954) dévoile un pan de sa création passée et récente dans Strange Paradise, une exposition monographique présentée sous la forme d’une installation. Le vernissage aura lieu le jeudi 28.09 dès 18h !

[n0dine] Brussels Boogie Woogie by Wastyn & Deschuymer
07/09 – 10/09/2023 – Brussels Gallery Weekend

[EN] In the 1990s, Wastijn and Deschuymer worked mainly with colourcopy (Rank Xerox and Canon) to capture the original body as closely as possible. The final piece was the work ‘Brussels Boogie Boogie’ where live rats walked across the copy plate. For this retrospective exhibition, ‘the big sunflower’ (prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge) is exceptionally reinstalled in n0dine.

[NL] In de jaren ’90 werkten Wastijn en Deschuymer voornamelijk met colorcopy (Rank Xerox en Canon) om zo dicht mogelijk het originele lichaam te vatten. Het sluitstuk was het werk ‘Brussels Boogie Boogie’ waar levende ratten over de copyplaat liepen. Voor deze retrospectieve wordt het werk ’the big sunflower’ (prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge) uitzonderlijk opnieuw opgebouwd in n0dine.

[FR] Dans les années 1990, Wastijn et Deschuymer ont principalement travaillé avec des photocopies couleur (Rank Xerox et Canon) afin de reproduire le plus fidèlement possible le corps original. L’œuvre finale est “Brussels Boogie Boogie”, dans laquelle des rats vivants marchent sur la plaque de copie. L’œuvre “le grand tournesol” (prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge) est exceptionnellement réinstallée à n0dine pour cette exposition rétrospective.

09/09 – 10/09 2023 – last weekend!

[EN] Kunst & Zwalm is a biennial art route in the Zwalm region organised by BOEM vzw since 1997. The project invites artists to work closely with the environment and to imagine a new landscape. For this edition, nadine and manoeuvre take on the joint curatorship. Together with 18 artists/collectives, they set to work around ‘water’. The reality of the Zwalm river crossing the landscape but also the power and mystics of water, and its social debate, became the guiding principle for unique artistic trajectories.

[NL] Kunst & Zwalm is een tweejaarlijks kunstparcours in de Zwalmstreek dat sinds 1997 georganiseerd wordt door BOEM vzw. Het project nodigt kunstenaars uit om nauw samen te werken met de omgeving en een nieuw landschap te verbeelden. Dit jaar namen nadine en manoeuvre het curatorschap op zich. Samen met 18 kunstenaars/collectieven gingen ze aan de slag rond ‘water’. Het maatschappelijk debat rond water, haar kracht en mystiek, en de realiteit van de Zwalm rivier die het landschap doorkruist, werden de leidraad voor het creatieve werkproces in deze editie.

[FR] Kunst & Zwalm est un parcours artistique bisannuel dans la région de Zwalm, organisé par l’asbl BOEM depuis 1997. Le projet invite les artistes à travailler dans la region de Zwalm et à imaginer un nouveau paysage. Cette année, nadine et manoeuvre organisent le parcours. Avec 18 artistes/collectifs, ils se penchent sur le thème de l’eau. Le débat social autour de l’eau, son pouvoir et sa mystique, ainsi que la réalité de la rivière Zwalm traversant le paysage sont devenus les principes directeurs du processus de création de cette édition.

[n0dine] 7 WALKS (Learning through the Soles of our Feet) by Vermeir & Heiremans
21/09 – 15/10/2023 – expo & walks

[EN] 7 Walks is an artistic research trajectory by the artist duo Vermeir & Heiremans. Using walking as a public research method, the project aims to connect the ecology of the arts with a natural common good – water. Vermeir & Heiremans are developing three new walks in Brussels for their exhibition in n0dine.
The walking project initiates a dialogue on concepts such as ownership, public goods and management, and explores forms of value redistribution and mutualisation. At the same time, cartography from an alternative pedagogical practice highlighting the role of anarchist and geographer Élisée Reclus is presented in n0dine.

[NL] 7 Walks is een artistiek onderzoekstraject van het artistiek duo Vermeir & Heiremans. Door wandelen te gebruiken als een publieke onderzoeksmethode en een directe relatie te ontwikkelen met de natuurlijke of stedelijke omgeving, wil het project de ecologie van de kunsten verbinden met een natuurlijk gemeenschappelijk goed – water. Naar aanleiding van hun tentoonstelling in n0dine ontwikkelt het duo drie nieuwe wandelingen in Brussel.
Het wandelproject initieert een dialoog over concepten als eigendom, publieke goederen en beheer, en verkent vormen van herverdeling van waarde en mutualisatie. Vermeir & Heiremans développent trois nouvelles promenades à Bruxelles pour leur exposition à n0dine.
Le projet de promenade initie un dialogue sur des concepts tels que la propriété, les biens publics et la gestion, et explore des formes de redistribution de la valeur et de mutualisation. Parallèlement, une cartographie issue d’une pratique pédagogique alternative, mettant en lumière le rôle de l’anarchiste et géographe Élisée Reclus, est présentée à n0dine.

[EN] wie WIJ zijn invites seven professional artists to the farm in Attenrode during the four seasons. Themes as connection, time and rhythm are key. After each season, the farm is open to the public and the journal of the past season is launched.

[NL] wie WIJ zijn nodigt zeven professionele kunstenaars uit om de boerderij in Attenrode tijdens de vier seizoenen. Thema’s als verbinding, tijd en ritme staan hierbij centraal. Na elk seizoen is de boerderij open voor publiek en wordt de krant van het afgelopen seizoen gepresenteerd.

[FR] wie WIJ zijn invite sept artistes à rencontrer et suivre la vie à la ferme d’Attenrode pendant les quatre saisons. La connexion, le temps et le rythme sont des thèmes essentiels. Après chaque saison, la ferme est ouverte au public et le journal de la saison écoulée est présentée.

[EN] ETAT DES LIEUX is a program curated & produced by nadine. Invited artists present ongoing research and work during a public try-out. The water will become the scene for an experimental event with performance, play and spontaneous sound interventions.

[NL] ETAT DES LIEUX is samengesteld en geproduceerd door nadine. Uitgenodigde kunstenaars presenteren lopend onderzoek en werk tijdens een publieke try-out. Het water wordt het toneel voor een experimenteel evenement met performance, spel en spontane geluidsinterventies.

[FR] ETAT DES LIEUX est organisé et produit par nadine. Les artistes invités présentent leurs recherches et travaux en cours lors d’un essai public. L’eau deviendra la scène d’un événement expérimental avec des performances, des jeux et des interventions sonores spontanées.

The moment is finally here! After a year of waiting, the Brussels Gallery Weekend celebrates today the first day of a weekend full of events and artistic discoveries. Come and discover the exhibitions of our 45 galleries and 14 institutions of the Off program and celebrate with us the launch of the artistic season.

We eagerly await your presence at our Meeting Point located at D’Ieteren, 82 Rue du Prévôt, 1050 Ixelles/Elsene. Here, you can dive into the Generation Brussels exhibition, as well as engage with the Atelier Indigo, Globe Aroma, and Stockmans Art Books Projects.

Die Europa- und Wissenschaftsstadt Aachen (ca. 260.000 Einwohner*innen) ist innovationsfreudig, traditionsbewusst und durch ihre reiche Geschichte historisch geprägt. Erstklassige Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen, das große europäische Erbe sowie die Grenzlage inmitten einer lebendigen Dreiländerregion geben Aachen eine weltoffene und internationale Prägung. Aachen ist eine von fünf digitalen Modellregionen in NRW. Mit rund 6000 Beschäftigten ist die Stadt Aachen die größte kommunale Arbeitgeberin im Grenzgebiet zu Belgien und den Niederlanden. Wer bei der städtischen Verwaltung arbeitet, gestaltet das Leben in Aachen aktiv mit. Die Stadt Aachen verfügt über eine ausdifferenzierte Museumslandschaft basierend auf bürgerschaftlichem Engagement.

Zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt ist im Geschäftsbereich Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst des Eigenbetriebes Kultur die Funktion der Sachbearbeitung „Presse, Marketing und Kommunikation“ (m/w/d) in Vollzeit zunächst befristet für einen Zeitraum von 2 Jahren zu besetzen. Perspektivisch wird eine dauerhafte Beschäftigung angestrebt.

Das Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst ist ein Museum für internationale, zeitgenössische Kunst. Als Stammhaus einer globalen Museumsfamilie präsentiert es neben Wechselausstellungen Exponate der weltberühmten Kunstsammlung von Peter und Irene Ludwig mit Schlüsselwerken der deutschen und westeuropäischen Nachkriegszeit sowie bedeutende Sammlungen der US-amerikanischen Kunst ab den 1960er Jahren. Darüber hinaus beherbergt das Museum eine der umfangreichsten Sammlungen zeitgenössischer Kunst aus Kuba, zeitgenössische Kunst aus China sowie Kunst aus Sowjetrussland, den ehemaligen Sowjetrepubliken und aus Zentral- und Osteuropa. Sein transdisziplinäres Programm kombiniert Einzel- und thematische Gruppenausstellungen mit Forschungsprojekten, Konferenzen, Filmvorführungen, Musik- und Tanzfestivals und anderen Bildungsaktivitäten, um seine Sammlungen im Dialog mit dem Publikum kontinuierlich zu erweitern und neu zu kontextualisieren. Der Bereich Presse/Marketing/Kommunikation verantwortet als Schnittstelle zwischen Museum und Öffentlichkeit die Museumskommunikation. Er übernimmt in selbstständiger und eigenverantwortlicher Arbeit vielfältige Aufgaben, die meist termingebunden sind und vor allem einer engen Abstimmung mit den Verantwortlichen der anderen Bereiche und Projekte, vor allem mit der Direktion und den Kuratorinnen und Kuratoren, bedürfen.

Aufgaben

Ausbau und Pflege des Pressenetzwerkes
Kommunikation (wissenschaftliche Vermittlung komplexer Inhalte) mit Pressevertreter*innen und Autor*innen und Koordination von (ausstellungsbezogenen) Presseanfragen
zweisprachiges Verfassen von Fachtexten zur zeitgenössischen Kunst und Kunsttheorie (Deutsch und Englisch)
Editieren und Lektorieren von Fachtexten in mindestens zwei Sprachen (Deutsch und Englisch)
Betreuung und Erstellung von wissenschaftlichen Publikationen, insbesondere Überprüfung von Übersetzungen und Erstellung von Übersetzungen
Erstellen und Redigieren von zielgruppenorientierten Texten wie Pressemitteilungen und Newslettern
Erstellen von Pressespiegeln; Koordination des postalischen Versands der Museumsangebote
Bildrecherche und Klärung von Bildrechten und Credits; u.a. Konzeption, Koordination und Umsetzung der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, insbesondere für Kommunikation und Vermarktung der Aktivitäten des Museums
Entwicklung, Steuerung und Umsetzung von Marketingkonzepten
Entwicklung von Kommunikationsstrategien für die und Pflege der Museumswebsite, Erstellung von projektspezifischen Redaktionsstrategien der Social Media-Accounts des Ludwig Forums und Kommunikation der Inhalte an die Social Media Abteilung des Kulturbetriebs

Das bringen Sie mit

ein abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium (Master, Magister oder Diplom) im Bereich der zeitgenössischen Kunst, Kultur oder Publizistik oder ein sonstiges geeignetes abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium mit einem geistes- oder kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkt
eine einschlägige mehrjährige Erfahrung im Bereich PR und Marketing in Kultureinrichtungen, wissenschaftlichen Institutionen oder Stiftungen
Erfahrungen im spezialisierten Feld der zeitgenössischen, modernen Kunst sowie im institutionellen Museums- und Ausstellungsbetrieb
fachspezifische Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse zu Urheberrecht, Veröffentlichungsrecht und Reproduktionsrecht
Erfahrung im Bereich Veranstaltungsorganisation und im wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten
sehr gute Kenntnisse der lokalen, überregionalen und internationalen Medienlandschaft
nachgewiesene Fähigkeit, komplexe und sensible Themen für das jeweilige Medium bzw. Adressat*innengruppe verständlich und ansprechend zu kommunizieren
Leidenschaft für und Vernetzung in der zeitgenössischen Kunst- und Kulturszene
überdurchschnittliches Bild-, Sprach- und Textgefühl
sicherer Umgang mit Content Management Systemen, sicherer sowie innovativer Umgang mit Office-Anwendungen, Social Media und mit anderen aktuellen Kommunikationsmedien
Kenntnis der verwaltungsüblichen EDV-Software (Word, Excel, etc.) sowie sicherer Umgang mit SAP und Datenbanksystemen (z.B. MuseumPlus)
souveränes und gewandtes Auftreten sowie Kommunikationsfreude
sichere Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Wünschenswert

Beherrschung einer weiteren Fremdsprache z.B. Französisch oder Niederländisch

Die Eingruppierung von Beschäftigten erfolgt in Abhängigkeit von der vorliegenden Qualifikation maximal bis zur EG 13 TVöD.
