Montez Press Radio July Broadcast

This month we will be broadcasting between the 23rd-31st, including two days of live broadcasts from Tirana, Albania and two days of guest programming organized by Diversity Hire and [removed];

Come by the studio at 46 Canal Street in NYC on the evening of the 23rd from 6-11pm for segments from Lunática, Civilization with Honor Levy, and Sibling Gardens with Viktor Timofeev.

On Tuesday the 27th we’ll have a day of new shows curated by Arjun Ram Srivatsa and Kevin Lozano, the hosts of Diversity Hire — a podcast about being POC in media — who have asked their best friends in music, art, and journalism to talk to them about how to start an ethical business, share their favorite tunes, and spill all the best gossip from coast to [removed];

On Wednesday the 28th we will be broadcasting live from Auto Italia in London on the occassion of their current exhibition by CFGNY, ‘Collecting Dissonance’, based around a garment [removed];The garments are presented as a part of a sculptural installation, which employs motifs and visual languages drawn from the group’s ongoing examination of the economic and social contexts of ‘cuteness’: subcultural commodity aesthetics that include kawaii (かわいい) in Japan, Kě’ài (可爱) in China and Aegyo (애교) in South [removed];CFGNY (Concept Foreign Garments New York / Cute Fucking Gay New York) began in 2016 as an ongoing dialogue between Tin Nguyen and Daniel Chew on the intersections of fashion, race, identity and sexuality. Joined by Kirsten Kilponen and Ten Izu in 2020, CFGNY continually returns to the term ‘vaguely Asian’: an understanding of racial identity as a specific cultural experience combined with the experience of being perceived as [removed];

We’re excited to release ‘A Million Miles Off’ from Mark Schoenfeld, a poignant read for the summer beginning in the mountains of the Colorado springs.

Mark Schoenfeld (he/him) is an ex-evangelical, recovering public school teacher, and disgruntled Texan. His writing seeks to contextualize his experiences within the larger systems that have impacted his and so many others’ lives. Mark lives in Missoula, Montana with his wife and young daughter, where he is pursuing his MFA in Creative Writing.
