All of them have a promise is a group exhibition with works of ten international visual artists on billboards in Heerlen. The panels from the last election are used for this poster campaign throughout the city. This unique project is an ideal opportunity to discover the work of contemporary artists in a democratic way, especially in these times with all the restrictive measures. The invited artists have been asked to show their art outside the regular context on a large billboard throughout the city. The large-scale works of art reach everyone on the road.
The exhibition All of them have a promise is part of Greylight projects’ program titled #mappingheerlen. This ongoing project aims to explore the area of Heerlen. The idea is to collectively draw a map enlightening the urban environment through a subjective approach. The point of interests that can be mapped are for instance existing art work in public space, hidden places, cultural and social initiatives and newly commissioned artistic project happening in public space such as the billboard campaign All of them have a promise. Greylight projects’ goal through #mappingheerlen is to reach a larger audience with contemporary art proposals and to build bridges between different domains.
