PRESENTATION ‘AFTER HOURS’, A NEW INTERVENTION BY DAEMS VAN REMOORTERE

Daems van Remoortere’s new intervention ‘After Hours’ is an ode to the iconic American visual artist Gordon Matta-Clark. ‘After Hours’ integrates Matta-Clark’s technique of cuttings in Daems van Remoortere’s body of work, which revolves around the friction between privacy and common good.

Daems van Remoortere present ‘After Hours’ in an old factory hall in the Antwerp suburb of Hoboken. The choice for Antwerp to present ‘After Hours’ is a reference to Matta-Clark’s important relationship with the city as he was invited by the ICC – the current M HKA museum of contemporary art in Antwerp – in 1977 for an intervention which became known as ‘Office Baroque’.

Daems van Remoortere will present ‘After Hours’ to the audience on Friday [removed] between [removed] to which you are cordially invited.

This week is your last chance to see Kristof Van Heeschvelde’s solo exhibition ‘Zoete Broodjes’ at De Ververij (Ronse). The exhibition was extended until [removed] due to succes.

‘LIPSTICK AND GAS MASKS’, group exhibition with Philippe Van Wolputte at M HKA

The video work by Philippe Van Wolputte was acquired through a collaboration between the City of Antwerp and the M HKA and is now part of the permanent city collection.

The city collection, including the work of Philippe Van Wolputte, is currently part of the group exhibition “Lipstick and Gas Masks”, until [removed]
