What: Littérature et Numérique (Encounters and exhibition)
Where: La Maison du Livre, Rue de Rome 24-28 – 1060 Bussels
When: Thursday 1st October & Thursday 8th October
Algolit is taking part in the exhibition ’Littérature et Numérique’ in
Maison du Livre in Brussels with 3 different installations:
L’algolitérateur, La Voix au chapitre and Greffer des arbres.
Digitization and algorithms are opening up new ways of writing. Will the
architecture of the narrative free itself from linearity? Are stories
going to write themselves? Will the viewer-reader be able to intervene
in the course of the story? Interactivity, non-linearity, automated
writing? Revolutions ? Fantasies ? Dead ends? Chestnut trees ? Danger ?
The pooling of different approaches to these questions, where plastic
arts, technological developments and literary expressions are combined,
should allow the visitors to reinterpret the notions of text, book,
page, speech, narrative… And, of course, to question their own place,
their role as perceivers/readers.
Thursday 1 October at 19h : encounter between the exposing artists and
Valérie Cordy, director of la Fabrique de théâtre and teacher of Digital
Arts in La Cambre.
Thursday 8 October at 19h : dialogue with philosopher Lambros
Couloubaritsis. His latest works deal with the complexity and IA on the
one hand and narrative violence on the other.

What: Constant_V: Looking for inyambo (Open doors)
Where: Constant vitrine, Rue du Fortstraat 5, 1060 Brussels
When: 3rd & 4th October
Looking for inyambo is part of Parcours d’artistes Saint-Gilles
Open doors: 14:00 – 19:00
This installation tells the story of a modest quest; looking for
something while being unsure whether it actually exists. It is an
attempt to navigate the past, present and future despite geographic and
linguistic other/non-place. Slowly coming to terms with permanent
misplacing.

What: DiVersions v2 (Guided tours)
Where: [removed]
When: Wednesday 14th October
In seven on-line installations, artists show how digital collections of
cultural institutions could welcome very different and even opposing
views. Decolonial and intersectional perspectives call for a rethinking
of on-line cultural heritage. What if we would arrange otherwise, invent
material ways to move with data and listen to metadata’s uncertainties?
The installations in the on-line exhibition were first shown in De
Pianofabriek in October 2019. On the basis of reflections and
discussions among the artists and with visitors, this second version of
DiVersions has been completely reworked.
With: Collection of uncertainties (Marie Lécrivain, Colm o’Neill),
Sketchy recognition (Michael Murtaugh, Nicolas Malevé), When organic
trees meet the data tree (Anaïs Berck), Material Journeys Through Other
Realities (Phil Langley, Mia Melvær), The weight of things (Cristina
Cochior), A new fire ceremony (Zoumana Meïté, Martino Morandi),
Diff3r3ntVversionsArePOSSIBLE?!. (Z.)
Guided tours: Wednesday 14 October 15:00-16:00, find us here:
[removed]. If you want to visit as a
group on other dates, please contact: Scenography: Mia Melvær and Cristina Cochior.

voor gender en feminisme. The second version of the DiVersions
publication will be published in December 2020.
At the opening on Thursday, June 25, 17:00-19:00, online, all artists
gave an explanation of the installations.
