International Women’s Art Project

To Whom It May Concern,
Yana Schnitzler HUMAN KINETICS is currently working on an international female-focused art project, titled Letting Go. A performance and visual art exhibition, Letting Go, uses the power of ritual to bring women together in the positive act of collectively releasing some of the “old” that no longer serves their personal growth.
Women of all walks of life are invited to write down what they wish to let go of on a piece of fabric and send it to us. We will hand-sew these pieces together during a public performance in a gallery space in New York City. The resulting room-filling skirt will be exhibited and eventually publicly destroyed as a powerful symbol of letting go. A tapestry of pieces of their personal story, the work will offer us a glimpse of where women stand today and what struggles they face.
With entries from 23 countries around the world, including Canada, Mexico, France, Russia, India, Egypt and Australia, among others, we hope to tour the exhibit of the room-filling skirt beyond its original site to share this touching and empowering work of art with as many women as possible. We are currently looking for partners to display this powerful piece in 2021/22, where female visitors will still be able to participate by using fabric pieces provided on site. We were wondering if Greylight Projects would be open to support the project by exhibiting it in their space?
The project description and current call for participation are attached FYI.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Yana Schnitzler
