Dear alumni and masters,
In attachment you can find all the information on a promising summer school which is organized by my former tutor in London, Maxa Zoller.
For the current MA students: Though the summer school is normally starting on 25 June (and your exhibition is going on until 2 June), I think you can try to arrange to arrive a week [removed];
I have followed several lectures organized at [removed] before, mostly on the moving image and politics, and must say these were always very engaging and insightful in an informal way (you get to meet nice interesting people too with whom you go for drinks afterwards). Maxa is definitely an authority in the field of experimental film/contemporary film installation and its relation to aesthetics and [removed];
They only take on 25 participants, so anyone interested should apply asap via the website
Good luck!
Best,
Laurence

From: Maxa Zoller <Subject: NEWS: [removed] summer school
To: Maxa Zoller <Dear friends and colleagues,it is with great pleasure that I announce the [removed] summer school, which will run for the first time this
summer from 25th June to the 3rd August. Six weeks packed with new teaching and learning methodologies, amazing workshops with really good international artists, lots of time in the film lab and theory seminars with myself (and they will be intense and fun and I promise we’ll go for ice cream).It would be so helpful if you could send this on to friends. There is an outline below with the link and a few flyers attached.I am very excited about this, it’s been a dream for a long time…See you and enjoy the spring…Maxa
[removed] summer school: A Lecture from behind the
ScreenWe are very excited to share with you the news of the
first [removed] summer school, A Lecture from Behind the Screen which will run
from 25 June to the 3rd August. This six-week programme
builds on [removed]#8217;s reputation as a vital community and site for the production,
discussion and dissemination of practices engaged with the moving image,
politics, technology and aesthetics Under the direction of Maxa
Zoller, the summer school offers participants a combination of theoretical
seminars, one-on-one contact with tutors, student-led activities, field trips,
guest workshops led by artists and theorists alongside a programme of hands-on
film and video making. These components are reliant upon and reflective of one
another in a manner that allows practice to enlighten theory, collective
experimentation to inform individual [removed];Confirmed guests include,
amongst others, Thomas Hirschhorn, Mikhail Karikis, Uriel Orlow, Hilary
Koob-Sassen, The Otolith Group, RUBEDO, Martina Mullaney, Camille Barabagallo, Frances
Rifkin and Chto Delat?The summer school is open to everybody including
potential BA, and MA students opting out of formal art school training with the
introduction of the new fees. Equally, we imagine the summer school will appeal
to postgraduate art students and artists, experimental film makers and
cinephiles wanting to invest in their practice.
