In his new body of work, embedded within the genre of street photography, Nicolas Provost renders instants of daily life into compositions evoking the history of painting. This is largely achieved by his deep sense of colour, composition and shadow play. By doing so, he turns street photography into a transcendent and transformative language of his own accord, capturing the ‘unearthing’ energy of the human spirit moving through the streets of New York.
