t has been three years since the russian full scale
invasion started on the 24th of February, 2022, and we think it is
necessary to show our solidarity as we pass this grim milestone. We also
want to stress once again that the war began in 2014 with the
annexation of Crimea and the occupation of major parts of Donetsk and
Luhansk oblasts that followed. This means that people in Ukraine have
been facing war conditions for almost 11 years now. Today, with US
President Trump trying to deny Ukraine’s subjectiveness and make shady
agreements with russia, it is even more important to show our solidarity
and support.

We are
coming together to answer the call of Solidarity Collectives. To show
that we stand in solidarity with them in Ukraine, and with those who had
to leave their home and came here. Solidarity Collectives are groups of
Ukrainian anarchists who united when the russian full scale invasion
began in order to support comrades fighting at the front and help those
affected by the russian invasion. Their main goal is to provide such
frontline soldiers with equipment that can increase their safety and
efficiency in resisting the imperial onslaught. Currently about 100
anti-authoritarian fighters receive support from these collectives.

The
soldiers they support are activists of various convictions: anarchists,
human rights activists, trade unionists, eco-anarchists,
anarcho-feminists, queers, punk-rockers, political refugees from Belarus
and Russia, and so on. Though many of these soldiers would not agree
with each other’s vision and ideas before the war, they are now united
by a common enemy because the russian imperial machine does not want any
of them to exist.

The
other direction of the Solidarity Collectives’ work is humanitarian
aid. Thanks to an established logistics network of warehouses and
vehicles, since the start of the full scale invasion, the collectives
have been receiving and delivering humanitarian aid to where it is
needed most. So far, they have organized independent humanitarian
convoys and delivered supplies to Bucha, Bilohorodka, Chernihiv, Kryvyi
Rih, Mykolaiv, Kramatorsk, Malyn, Kharkiv, and other cities. This aid
primarily consists of medicines, clothing, food, sleeping bags and
mattresses, gas stoves with cylinders, and electrical equipment.

Through
their Animal Aid project, they provide food, medical care, and safe
shelters for animals in need. Their team of volunteers rescues abandoned
and injured animals, helps find them new homes, and works with
communities to raise awareness of animal welfare needs.
