Oscillation ::: The Weather ep. 5
… Weathering

Dwellers of the sublunar,

A festival about changing environments? It’s safe to say that we prefer to stay in this fixed environment with you, dear audience, and with all the sounds, spaces and artists that brought us back to ecstasy [removed];Being one part of the weather together – weathering.

Today we continue in 2 different locations; this afternoon we can be found at Jean-Felix Hap Park for live radio performances, an installation and in-situ performances, tonight we are hosted by Atelier 210. The attentive reader of the bulletin series may have noticed that the varia and hearsay section is a bit shorter today; the editorial team was spotted very late at the venue last night, fussing over who can give the best impression of a common wood pigeon in the breeding season (reported anonymously by someone called Justin Tonation).

Timetable @Jean-Felix Hap Park:

15:00 – 18:00 Live radio performance by Gabi Schaffner & Ernst Markus Stein
15:00 – 18:00 Performances by Rory Salter
15:00 – 18:00 Installation by Justin Bennett – performance moments at 16:00 and 17:00

Timetable @Atelier 210:

18:30 – 19:30 Conversation: Weather Patterns w/ d’incise, Pat Thomas, Ute Wassermann. Moderated by Stoffel Debuysere.

20:00 Yara Mekawei: El-Qibla is a sonic journey rooted in Yara Mekawei’s field recordings from Sufi celebrations across Muslim African regions, blending traditional instruments with immersive compositions. Guided by the concept of the Qibla, the performance aligns spiritual and sonic energies, weaving sacred rituals into a vibrant, contemplative soundscape.

21:00 Catherine Lamb & Rebecca Lane & Bryan Eubanks (Sacred Realism): Prisma Interius IV by Catherine Lamb is a collaborative, open-instrumentation piece shaped through aural transmission into the Secondary Rainbow Synthesizer, which filters live external sound fields. Part of a larger series, it explores the fusion of natural sounds and breath with instrumental timbres, creating evolving harmonic interactions between technology and live performance.

22:30 Marja Ahti: To Admit is not to Enter, the Door is not an Ikon blends field recordings, live electronics, and everyday objects to create poetic connections between environments and perception. Rooted in a fascination with the strangeness of auditory experience, the performance explores how simple vibrations can evoke profound, atavistic responses.

23:15 Soumaya Phéline: Soumaya Phéline reimagines CDJs, turntables, and mixers as expressive instruments, using DJing as a performative and narrative art form. Through improvisational jamming and cinematic storytelling, she blurs the lines between sound, movement, and technology, pushing the boundaries of both music and the body.

00:00 Nonlocal Research DJ Set: Nonlocal Research presents an ode to the sun. Known for their DJ sets that typically embody hope and optimism, they’ve decided to collage together specifically a collection of tracks in praise of the sun, using music to express warmth and light.
