We can’t believe it / You can’t conceive it / It’s opening night!
Yes, the weather is a hot topic (alert: first lame pun of the bulletin series) these past few days, something that might have something to do with current ecstatic meteorological phenomena and the festival theme. After a few days in vans and lugging around flight cases by the Oscillation équipe, our fest is already kicking off this afternoon! Today we are at Le Brass (and its extensive surroundings, the swamp) – tickets still available at the door!
Today’s timetable:
16:00 – 18:00 Gabi Schaffner and Ernst Markus # Wiels): Datscha Radio is a nomadic station exploring arts, ecology, and local knowledge through the medium of radio. For Oscillation, Gabi Schaffner and Ernst Markus Stein will create a two-hour open-air radiophonic event, tuning into the watery worlds of Marais Wiels and its diverse [removed];Live radio performance in Marais Wiels you can attend in person, free admission. Bring a portable FM radio if you have one!
18:30 – 19:30 Conversation #1: Performing the Environment w/ Áine O’Dwyer, Vanessa Rossetto, Tzu [removed]; 20:00 Silvia Tarozzi & Deborah Walker: Canti di guerra, di lavoro e d’amore reimagines early 20th-century female folk songs from Emilia-Romagna through experimental sounds and modern textures. Tarozzi and Walker transform these evolving oral traditions into a choral polyphony of dissonance, melody, and layered instrumentation. 21:00 Marta Zapparoli: Based on research from 2022 to 2024, Zapparoli’s Interdimensional Generated Space explores the Northern Lights through VLF radio recordings, electromagnetic devices, and cosmic sonics. The performance creates a sensory dialogue between natural and technological forces, revealing the aurora’s hidden energies and their resonance in the Anthropocene. 22:15 Jana Winderen: Jana Winderen, a Norway-based artist with a background in science, creates immersive sound works that reveal inaccessible acoustic environments, from underwater worlds to inaudible frequencies. Her installations and performances explore the unheard, blending scientific inquiry with spatial audio to make the imperceptible perceptibe. 23:00 Jonathan Frigeri: Why not return art to its ancient roots, grounded in ritual—the ancestral theater of magic, where collective desire can reshape reality? The performance will guide the audience through a ceremony filled with diverse sound vibrations, blending elements of experimental music, sound art, and performance.
Forever’s gonna start tonight,
