For the past four years Montez Press Radio has been connecting listeners to participants across a distributed sonic commons while also nurturing a vital creative community in the physical space of our Canal Street studio, and growing London community in South Bermondsey. MPR supports cultural workers by offering tools, technology, and the means of distribution to start the thoughtful dialogues that make a real impact. Since our founding in 2018, we’ve produced over 2,200 segments reaching an audience of 150,000 unique listeners while fostering greater experimentation and conversation between artists, writers, and thinkers through the medium of live radio. This year alone, we’ve produced 400 segments, and distributed $65,000 to artists for their contributions to the station.

With the generous support of our community, Montez Press Radio is hoping to meet our year-end fundraising goal. We hope that you can join this effort by attending one of our events in London or New York, purchasing an artwork from the catalogue below, or making a donation at any level. All support will go towards MPR’s operating costs and artist commissions for the year ahead. Thank you for being part of this project, and we look forward to listening with you.

Party for MPR at Ormside Projects, London on Thursday December 8th

We’re excited to host our first London Fundraiser event for Montez Press Radio on Thursday December 8th, guest programmed by artist and musician Poppy Moroney, in collaboration with Montez [removed];

We’ve got an incredible line up, with performances and sets by Babeworld X Utopian Realism, P-WAVE, Mander, Emily Pope, Hasti, Saucy Sez, WAJ, Terribilis, Mellowdramatics and UH (live). We’ll be broadcasting the night live on MPR from 7pm UK time/2pm EST, and partying til late at Ormside Projects, Bermondsey.

MPR Art Sale Fundraiser

In the attached preview, you’ll find select works generously donated by artists and galleries that have contributed to the station in the past. All proceeds will go directly to any artists that have requested an artist’s share, and the remaining balance will support MPR’s operating costs and artist commissions for the year ahead. Montez Press Radio invites you to see the work in person and enjoy an evening of readings and performances at Kai Matsumiya’s new gallery at 264 Canal St, Suite 5E on December 10th. The event begins at 6pm and will feature Constance DeJong, Alexandra Tatarsky, Elliot Reed, Morgan Bassichis, Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste, and Arjun Ram Srivatsa.
