We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rodney Graham, whose work is part of the Collection and Archive of Herbert Foundation.

As an actor, producer, performer, poet, sound engineer, historian, writer and musician, he immersed himself in various roles and characters during his 50-year-long career. He frequently focused on the artist’s position in relation to society.

Rodney Graham himself emphasised the possibilities that his broad practice entails by stating that ‘it may be a burden to reinvent oneself every time, but it makes things more [removed];

We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
