Experience a day by the seaside with WIELS! This Saturday [removed], we invite you to the annual – undisciplined – happening INDISCIPLINE with performances and experimental interventions.

With INDISCIPLINE, WIELS refers in particular to the legendary EXPRMNTL film festival that took place from 1947 to 1974. Illustrious figures such as Yoko Ono, Marcel Broodthaers, Michael Snow, Agnes Varda, Harun Farocki and many others participated in the EXPRMNTL festival in the early years of their careers. This weekend, relive a happening in the spirit of the rich artistic and filmic history of the Grand Casino Knokke.

With work and performances by NAN GOLDIN, ANNE-MIE VAN KERCKHOVEN & CRAYON MOON, ANNA FRANZISKA JÄGER & NATHAN OOMS, XAVIER GARCIA BARDON/EXPRMNTL, JACK SMITH, MARIJKE DE ROOVER, BENJAMIN KAHN, JEAN LURÇAT & DJ HE4RTBROKEN.

Pak Yan Lau is a sound artist, improviser, musician and composer. On the occasion of the WIELS Nocturne, she invites João Lobo (drums) and Marti Melia (bass clarinet) to make a musical nod to Shimabuku’s exhibition Instrumental.
