Bod Mellor x Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof

We’re excited to announce that Backstage Boo, a newly commissioned site-specific mural by artist Bod Mellor, is launching on the 2nd of September, and will run until 6th July 2023 at Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg. At 8pm Mellor will read from their novel, Sirens, published by Montez Press, for the second launch of the publication.

Bod Mellor ([removed]) is an artist based in London, who has been exhibiting internationally since the 1990s. Solo exhibitions and special projects include Sixty Years at Tate Britain; London, Vile Affections at Studio Voltaire; London, The Migros Museum; Zurich, Sirens at Team Gallery; New York, Madame X and The Party Tricks at Victoria Miro; London, Michael Jackson On The Wall at The National Portrait Gallery; London (touring), What Happened to Helen? Focal Point Gallery; Southend and Malerei, Böse at Kunstverein; Hamburg.

August Interjection: IL Y AURA (THERE WILL BE); THE LINES. by Alice Theobald

Alice Theobald was born in Leicester, UK in 1985. She lives and works in Birmingham, UK. Theobald works across a wide range of media including live performance, video, installation, sound, text and sculpture and composes music and soundtracks for her works. Her work fluctuates between script and improvisation and highlights the unstable relationship between art, communication and representation. She is also co-founder of the music/artist-collective Ravioli Me Away with Sian Dorrer and Rosie Ridgway. In 2019 they created the alt-opera “The View from Behind the Futuristic Rose Trellis” which toured the UK to Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge; BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; The Box Plymouth and Block Universe at The Albany, Deptford. MPR Summer Schedule: Broadcasting Live from Seoul

Montez Press Radio is thrilled to end the summer with live broadcasts from South Korea.

Friday the 26th of August (6am NYC / 7pm Seoul) with Fuckery Poetry Reading Group. Performances, readings, music, and costumes from a number of artists as a David and Goliath response to Frieze and other mass market Korean cultural exports. Organized by Sinae Yoo with Jinsik Moon and Kyeong Ryeom Kim. Featuring: Chaeri Kim, Jinsik Moon, Kyeong Ryeom Kim, Neverfeltcool, Misha, Pierrot of Banpo, Sansooyou, Song chae yeon, and Sungsil Ryu.

Sunday the 28th (6am NYC / 7pm Seoul) at CAVA Life offices. “Bid the Kid” performative auction and subsequent party organized by WHITE NOISE. Featuring 박론디 Rondi Park, 김대운 Dan Kim, 이연석 Yonsok Yi, 서제만 Jaeman Seo, 유신애 Sinae Yoo, 아기 남 Aggie Nam, 정영호 Youngho [removed];

Monday the 29th (2-6am NYC / 3-7pm Seoul) live from MiDoPa Coffee House. Three hours of “The Great Beauty” hosted by Andrew Russeth with Maria Cho, Joon Yub Lee, Rondi Park, Jin Meyerson, Moon Kyungwon, Jeon Joonho, and special guests. Tune in to hear art experts select their favorite place, or favorite artwork, in Korea. This will be followed by a one hour segment with Anton Hur, writer and translator of Korean literature.

Wednesday the 31st (6-10am NYC / 7-11pm Seoul) DJ sets live from Seoul Community Radio with Noi, DJ Hotpot/Osmanthus, Arexibo, SeaSee/8echno.

Friday 2nd September (7-10am NYC / 8-11pm Seoul) live from Dotolim for concert series_149 with Fritz Weich, Choi Joonyong, and Szalwia.

Saturday 3rd September (7am-1pm NYC / 8pm-midnight Seoul) live from Seendosi, curated with Psychic Liberation and Daham Park. Featuring sets from Daham Park, Joyul, guixine, Choi Taehyun, Yeong-Die, Jiyoung Wi and Nick [removed];

Wednesday 7th September (11pm-5am NYC / 12pm-6pm Seoul) with contributions from Logan Lockner, CHS, Da, Starch House, Rope Editions with Joo Yuntakk, Pulsecom, and Vomit & Tear.
