REWINDING INTERNATIONALISM 

EXHIBITION –  With work by Didem Pekün, susan pui san lok and Wendelien van Oldenborgh, a research presentation and Belgian New Beat. Curated by Nick Aikens.

The exhibition draws from the [removed];During the decade, the ascendancy of globalisation coincided with the revival of ethnonationalisms within Europe. Within the art world a ‘New Internationalism’ was embraced, calling for an end to the centring of Western European and US positions.

PLAY-WHITE

BOOKLAUNCH – Bianca Baldi’s presents her book Play-White. Rooted in the apartheid era, the racist term “play-white” connotes a black or mixed-race person who lived as a white person. South African artist Bianca Baldi draws from research on biomimicry and her own family history to reflect on racial passing and the instability of racial [removed];

This event is hosted by Sint Lucas School of Arts Antwerp, ARIA and Netwerk Aalst.
