AIR SALON

“Nos plats aigres irritent vos palais” is the title of the radio play by Stéphanie Rosianu that brings together different insurgent voices. Ones she wrote and ones she listens to.

The title of the play “Nos plats aigres irritent vos palais” (Our sour dishes irritate your palates) is a phrase from the French version of Bertolt Brecht’s play “Antigone”. In its French translation, this line has a double meaning of the word “palais”, which means both “the palate” and “the palace”. This double meaning embodies the will of this play to create stories that can irritate both the palate and the palace of the privileged.

The voices in the radio play have in common that they use words to challenge the system/cis-tem. Each of the voices tells stories that require different subjectivities than those shaped by patriarchal and colonialist ideas and other oppressive capitalist rules. Subjectivities that seek not to rise above one another, but to connect and join together to transform the hegemonic Eurocentric story into narratives that help us create a different sense of being together on this planet.

Stéphanie Rosianu

Residency: Sep 2021-Feb 2022

Stéphanie Rosianu uses words as a material to create and reflect on our society. Her projects can take different form as stage creations, visual installations, group readings, publications and radio [removed];One of her last project exhibited is titled Kiosque. An itinerant project, she started in 2017, to share poetic and political books that have in common a way of questioning our society and making us attentive to human and non-human relationships. All the texts in the kiosk are photocopied and bound by hand, and accessible free of [removed];Kiosque aims to propagate knowledge outside the preconceived circuits and [removed] her stay in Berlin she wants to write the third part of a stage creation which challanges the word « common » through its communist heritage.

Oct 8, 2020
Schwedenstraße 16, 13357 Berlin, Germany

All the womxn’s bodies that crossed the rivers and canals of the city of Berlin are connected with each other. They were killed there, died, or only passed through these liquid spaces and together they grew into an original memory that connects distant pasts and potential futures. In this new narration a population has emerged from this violence and loss: the Womxn Waves.
