fluent is pleased to present Operatori, a solo exhibition by Ibon Aranberri in which he responds to the architectural materials present at fluent’s glass and metal pavilion through a series of handmade technical drawings usually developed in the historical context of professional training schools. Unfolding a specific installation which reinforces the material culture from the architecture itself, the project references a vocabulary of geometric forms that has remained the same throughout the shifts from manual to machine to robotic labour. As the production of industrial labour evolved into an omnipresent technical knowledge, the formal vocabulary and methods of manufacture stayed the same, but with different outcomes, emphasizing the educational infrastructures and channels that shape our material and inmaterial [removed];
Ibon Aranberri currently lives and works in the Basque Country. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions at institutions such as Vienna Secession, Fundació Tàpies, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Kunsthalle Basel, among others. In 2007 he was invited to take part in Documenta XII.
