P/////AKT warmly invites you this Friday 25 June, from 12:00 until 20:00, to attend a series of presentations at the space as part of Amsterdam Art Week official program. In the main space Nicola Arthen will present the audio installation ‘Hearing Trucks, Probably Dreaming Better’ as a preview of his upcoming solo exhibition while in the tower-annex space Benjamin Francis will show the video ‘Dominique’ that will be part of his forthcoming P/////AKTPOOL presentation. Throughout the day the new publication ‘The Space Conductors Are Among Us’ — on the results of P/////AKT’s 2020 exhibition program— will be on display and available at our bookhsop.

Nicola Arthen – Hearing Trucks, Probably Dreaming Better

Hearing trucks probably dreaming better is both a temporary installation and a preview of An Intricate Well, Arthen’s solo exhibition that will open on 10 July. It marks the second part of P/////AKT’s exhibition program Am I an Object, which loosely addresses the dissolving boundaries between the body and the object. As the exhibition approaches, P/////AKT will host the euphonious ruuurrrump of delivery vehicles arriving at the site.

Benjamin Francis – Dominique

Through a juxtaposition of several disciplines and hierarchical systems, Benjamin Francis attempts to force systemic errors that lay bare the foundations of power and vulnerability involved in human [removed];Dominique is a video work dealing with meat – a(s a) word that is used in a variety of ways and is being translated as common, unclean, defiled, and unholy.

The Space Conductors Are Among Us is a publication on the results of P/////AKT’s 2020 exhibition program. It includes contributions by Stian Ådlandsvik, Stephan Blumenschein, Timo Demollin, Tomas Dirrix, Dieuwertje Hehewerth & Valerie Tee Lee, Ieva Kraule-Kūna & Elīna Vītola, Domenico Mangano & Marieke van Rooy, Ania Molenda, Brenda Tempelaar, Augustas Serapinas, Isabelle Sully, The Artist (Annabelle Binnerts, Bart Lunenburg and Caz Egelie), Anu Vahtra, Ingel Vaikla, Reinier Vrancken.
