The Interjection Calendar 006 is here

Join us for the launch of The Interjection Calendar 006 on Montez Press Radio with a radio cabaret including readings and music from the contributors & the chance to buy the calendar at a discounted launch price! 

The turbulent, hopeful and at points frankly wretched social, political and economic twists and turns of this year have reiterated the importance of an active sense of community and the need for a collective desire to reimagine potential futures with vigour. We are very excited to share the collection, which embodies this spirit.

The Interjection Calendar is an on and offline project, devised and hosted by Montez Press. Each month an artist or writer is commissioned to produce a new piece of work for release on our website. The PDF can be downloaded for free and there are 12 releases per year. At the end of the year the collection is published, demonstrating a diverse range of collaborations and experimental works, mapping the year in contemporary art writing, with equal space held for the emerging and the [removed];

This month’s Interjection by Jamie Steedman is set in the year of 2023 and narrated from the viewpoint of Lawrence (called Larry by his mum) the seagull and Mark (nicknamed Merky) the pigeon:

Jamie Steedman is an artist, writer and cultural nomad from and currently stranded in Glasgow, Scotland, Earth. He completed an MA in Contemporary Art Practice in the Public Sphere at Royal College of Art (2020) and is currently co-editor of the quarterly arts publication windfall*. His practice attempts to intersect peculiar lives, afterlives and failures, and he currently has a strange interest in seagulls.
