Montez Press March News

Montez Press Radio in March

This month Montez Press Radio will be broadcasting from the 22nd to the 27th, with guest curation from Legacy Russell, our day of UK broadcasting on the  25th and of course our 12 hours of monthly regulars on the last day, plus all new shows on the 24th and 26th.

This month’s radio begins with an in-house mix of found sound revolving around the theme of Alternative Education. Then, we have special guest curator Legacy Russell, who on the 23rd will be in conversation with the artists from LEAN, an exhibition on view via Performa’s Radical Broadcast through March 31st, 2021 and in physical space at Kunsthall Stavanger in Norway through April 25th 2021. LEAN brings together artists Justin Allen, Jen Everett, Krista Gay, Devin Kenny, Kalup Linzy, Rene Matić, Sadé Mica, and Leilah Weinraub who, through movement, sound, and film, collectively congregate and confer toward lean as a Black vernacular and queer poetic proposition. For these eight artists lean is an intimacy, collaboration, intergenerational, and international conviviality.
