“Undoubtedly, modernity is a historical period within which the centrality of the body is asserting itself as the object of power – a body to control, a body to manage, a body to govern – submitted to the imperatives imposed by the collusion between economy and biology, especially manifest in the ideology of [removed]#8221;

OV Project is pleased to announce its new exhibition OV 26 — On peut mourir d'être immortel presenting the works of Teresa Solar and Luca Vanello.
In Nietzsche’s The Gay Science, we can read that human beings have killed God. God being incarnated in everything, God is therefore also an incarnation of Nature. In the works of Teresa Solar and Luca Vanello, nature is transcended as if, assessing the death of God and Nature by technique, the artists had tried to preserve it, to embalm it. Behind their practices is the will “to make us masters and possessors of nature1”. Descartes’ quote illustrates these artists’ individual will to create an oeuvre functioning as an ecosystem. […] The ambiguous forms in Teresa Solar’s pieces remind us of shells and at times of tongues or even of cavern-like bodies. It is a reminder of life in mutation, deploying itself beyond human beings’ narcissism, such as a shelter for a life in the making. Her sculptures and drawings are tactile. They are pulling us back to a certain corporeality and sensuality. Much as Luca Vanello’s pieces, inscribed in a post-romantic vision of nature, where nature is preserved, enhanced, and magnified. His work becoming the perfect example of mimesis: the plant imitates plastic and the plastic imitates the organic, offering a glimpse at new forms of cohabitation.
Have the works exhibited here not been shaped by skillful bodies? Can these post-human ideologies exist by and for themselves?
