More then a month ago 222lodge published this Open Call:

We are looking for the smallest, the quietest, the least, the narrowest, the slowest, the lightest, the shortest and the thinnest. If your work is barely perceptible by eye, by ear, by mind, yet unmistakably present, then we want to show it somehow.
We don’t want to predefine a format. It can be part of an exhibition, a public evening or a publication. It depends what you come up with …

Unfortunately, this last promise could not be kept. Due to the revival of the pandemic, we can only present this festival online.
Nevertheless, we believe that this inevitability has turned out to be a quality.

The Festival of the Smallest will be opened on Wednesday October 21, at 11:00 (UTC+2)

We zijn op zoek naar de kleinste, de stilste, de minste, de smalste, de traagste, de lichtste, de kortste en de dunste. Als je werk met het oog, met het oor, of met de geest nauwelijks waarneembaar is maar er toch nog steeds onmiskenbaar is, dan willen we het graag op een of andere manier laten zien.
We willen niet vooraf een formaat definiëren. Het kan een onderdeel zijn van een tentoonstelling, een publieke avond of een publicatie. Het hangt ervan af wat je instuurt….

Helaas konden we die laatste belofte niet nakomen. Door de opleving van de pandemie kunnen we het festival alleen online presenteren. We menen dat deze onontkoombaarheid heeft geleid tot een bijzondere kwaliteit.

Het Festival of the Smallest zal worden geopend op woensdag 21 oktober om 11:00 (UTC+2)
