Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As shows were sold out until December, and luckily the museums stay open for now, new dates have been added for SIGHTLESS SEEING #4: ACQUISITIONS performances in the Stedelijk [removed];


This performance, disguised as a tour, has been developed in collaboration with Alicia Hoost and Leroy de Böck on the occasion of the exhibition In the Presence of Absence

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Through self-designed rituals and stories, two fictional guides question conventional means of acquiring knowledge and experiencing culture. Together with visitors, they will explore how sharpened senses enable them to look “through” the works on display.

ABOUT THE ARTIST AND PERFORMERS

Sarah van Lamsweerde followed a master’s in artistic research and performance at DasArts Amsterdam. Her performances and installations have been exhibited at FLAM and De Appel, Amsterdam; Performatik, Brussels; ANTI-festival for Contemporary Art, Finland and STUK in Leuven. Van Lamsweerde is a member of the interdisciplinary peer groups Tre Tigri and BAU Platform for Dance and Performance in Amsterdam, IM Company in Paris, and Performing Objects (Enough Room for Space) in Brussels.

 

Alicia Hoost is a writer and performer. She has written for several different platforms about her experiences with studying, dating, and going out while having a visual impairment. She has also participated in various theater productions and performances throughout Amsterdam.

 

Leroy de Böck is an actor who has performed in various theater productions by Achterdebergproducties and DeGasten theater. He studies French and has been involved with performances by Van Lamsweerde since 2016.
