Urgent ? ‘Track Tracy’ cancelled in Antwerp

AI- driven art installation ‘Track Tracy’ by Daems van Remoortere cancelled from DakKan-festival in Antwerp this weekend over concerns of response of residents
 

‘Track Tracy’, an interactive public art installation by Antwerp based artist duo Daems van Remoortere was due to be active in the upcoming ‘DakKan-festival’ in Antwerp. A festival drawing the attention to the 1,5 million sqm of unused roofs in the city.
The cultural departement of the city of Antwerp had invited Daems van Remoortere to present ‘Track Tracy’ within the festival’s context between 18 September until 20th September 2020, to which we had cordially invited [removed]; 
Unfortunately the festival wasn’t granted permission to use the chosen location in the center of Antwerp to present ‘Track Tracy’ over concerns of the response by residents to the [removed];
We are saddened by this conclusion as ‘Track Tracy’ has always been well received by the many audiences Tracy has caught in her beams and we hope to establish this curious relationship between artificial and biological intelligence elsewhere soon.
