Igor Sevcuk

Igor Sevcuk, born 1972 in Banja Luka, work/live in Amsterdam and Utrecht.
After receiving MA in 2000 at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, I was awarded the first prize for film and video, de Prix de Rome 2002.
My work involves settings in which everyday life encounter the politics of memory. Various recordings: found footages, literary notes, diaries, photographs and other documents interact (or haunt each other) through subsequent essayistic montage. The ambition here is to revive a form of shared mind, visual and textual entanglement that flows through one’s self, the other and time.
I have exhibited among other places, Westfaelischer Kunstverein in Münster, Kunstverein in Frankfurt, Gallery Sign in Groningen, Living Art Museum in Reykjavik,  International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam (IDFA), Kunsthall in Bergen, Museum am Ostwall/ hART ware in Dortmund and Institut Néerlandais in Paris.
In 2010 I have initiated the artist-led space Goleb and from 2015 I was co-organizing Klupko – Room(s) & Daily Art Situations, both in Amsterdam.

Magali Dougoud

Magali Dougoud is an artist based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She graduated from HEAD-Geneva and HKB-Bern with a Master in Fine Arts. She also has been co-curator of the independent art space Urgent Paradise in Lausanne from 2012 to 2019. She is mainly working with video, text, and installation. In her artistic research, she is looking to dismantle dominant stories (historical and scientific) to find other possible subjectivities. She develops an emancipatory feminine imagination through notions such as liquidity – as a heterogeneous means of communication -, violence, desire, origin, plural and inter-species intelligence. She uses collective and intimate narratives that constitute empirical [removed];

During her stay with ABA, Magali Dougoud continues her research into Water, as a constitutive element of human and non-human bodies and our environment. For this purpose, she will investigate rivers and canals that cross through the city of Berlin. She is inspired by hydrofeminism, the idea that we are all Bodies of Water which makes our liquid incarnations an exploration of otherness. Her work will also focus on current environmental issues linked to the water as a resource.

Joris Perdieus

[removed]

Joris Perdieus is a visual artist and scenographer based in Brussels.

He investigates the autonomous artistic value of atmospheric and scenographic media. The result is a fleeting and multiform landscape of installations, interventions and performances that increasingly present themselves as sensory environments in which sometimes highly visual, often more ethereal experiences can take place. Joris’ work is distinctively trans-disciplinary and often introduces black-box strategies into the realm of the white-cube and vice versa.

As a PhD researcher at Luca Brussels/Leuven University Joris is a member of the research-groups Intermedia and Mediated Environments. In Berlin, he is deepening the first phase of his doctoral research, exploring Non-Visual Scenographic, developing and producing sound as well as small-scale performative objects and actions for later use in larger environments.
