The Montez Press Writers Grant is a direct response to the unprecedented financial crisis caused by the pandemic. This grant exists to support artists and writers who lost income due to Covid-19, or who perhaps never had any to begin with. We have worked closely with the recipients to develop their new works, of which we are extremely proud and excited to share. We’d like to thank all the artists and writers involved for their time, commitment and energy.

MPR August Edition
 
This month the radio will be broadcasting from the 25th-30th of [removed];In addition to all of your favorite recurring shows, we’ll have the final installment of our four month summer collaboration with MOSTYN, a special three day broadcast from our friends across the sea in London (26th-29th), the final works in the ISSUE Project Room Isolated Field Recording Series, as well as special guest curation by The Center for Afrofuturist Studies.

The Center For Afrofuturist Studies in Collaboration with Montez Press Radio

For this exciting three-day collaboration, CAS has curated a series of programming which will commence each day at 4:30pm after we transition over from the London broadcast on the 26th, 27th, and 28th.

MOSTYN x MPR: Final Installment

The last Sunday of this month will close out a four month collaboration with MOSTYN, a contemporary art gallery located in the seaside town of Llandudno, [removed];Many thanks to MOSTYN and all the contributors that helped make this collaboration possible – as well as a big thanks to the Arts Council of Wales.

This last day of broadcasts will feature shows from: Zoë Skoulding, Christelle Oyiri aka CRYSTALLMESS, Endangered Languages Project, STUDIO CYBI (Rebecca Gould and Iwan Lewis), and Podge

Onyeka Igwe is an artist and researcher working between cinema and installation. Born and based in London, [removed]; In her non-fiction video work Onyeka uses dance, voice, archives, sound design and text to create structural ‘figure-of-eights’, a format that exposes a multiplicity of narratives.
