You are cordially invited to the exhibition It is part XVIII and I’m here to be part of the assembly, and this assembly is no longer necessarily ceremonial at De Fabriek in Eindhoven on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5 from 1pm – 10pm.
During the last four months (including a two month break) we, Bas van den Hurk & Jochem van Laarhoven did research and lived and worked at the Fabriek. The work-period was a follow up of our residency at the Luceberthuis in Bergen (NH) and a completion of our research supported by the Mondrian [removed];
Central were questions around authorship, collaboration, living together and the cross-pollination between fine art and theatre. Together with Bo Stokkermans and other artists we did text-readings, experiments and produced [removed];
Over the last weeks the windows were open, we played music and used the wide open workspace in a hybrid and constantly changing way. Thus we facilitated a dynamic workflow with an ongoing re-arrangement of the space as a living room, a costume workshop, a theatre, a painting area, a silkscreen workshop, a film-location, a cinema and a bindery. This lead to drawings, paintings, costumes, silk-screens, ready-mades, publications, sculptures, installations and a film which will be presented on both floors of De [removed];
