TV15 presents Voice-Over (2014), a video from the collection by Roy Villevoye.

Set in the Asmat region in the Indonesian part of New Guinea, Voice-Over overlays the construction of a traditional wooden sculpture with a phone call about a sales deal gone wrong. The death of Roy Villevoye’s Papuan friend Omoma is the reason for the creation of the sculpture, a ritual that also functions as a memorial ceremony.

TV15 présente Voice-Over (2014), une vidéo de la collection d’ réalisée par Roy Villevoye.

Filmé dans la région d’Asmat, en Nouvelle-Guinée, Voice-Over combine des images de la construction d’une sculpture traditionnelle en bois avec un appel téléphonique concernant un accord de vente qui a mal tourné. La mort d’Omoma, ami de Roy Villevoye, est à l’origine de la création de la sculpture, un rituel qui fait également office de cérémonie commémorative.

TV15 presenteert Voice-Over (2014), een video uit de collectie van Roy Villevoye.

Voice-Over speelt zich af in de Asmat-regio in het Indonesische deel van Nieuw-Guinea. De video overlapt beelden van de constructie van een traditionele houten sculptuur met een telefoontje over een misgelopen verkoop. Het overlijden van Roy Villevoye’s Papoea-vriend Omoma is de aanleiding voor de creatie van het beeld, een ritueel dat ook fungeert als een herdenkingsplechtigheid.
