Dear reader,

We are pleased to announce a new initiative: THE 2020 OPEN CALL.

In these undoubtedly challenging times reclaiming non-productivity is more than justified. Yet we nevertheless wanted to launch the new ways in which will be organising production support for artists in the coming years, as a simultaneous move forward.

Through this open call, strongly seeks to support atypical audiovisual works that might otherwise be difficult or impossible to realise. We hope that our unique institutional context, one that engages the entire life cycle of audiovisual artworks, from their inception to their archiving, provides a stimulating framework for artists to work in.

The format of an open call is a new one for , but we are trying to organise it as straightforwardly as possible. You can read all details below.

We look forward to reading your submissions!

In the meantime, we will continue our weekly TV and prepare for the reopening of our physical spaces in September with the Tony Cokes exhibition.

This has been a time for learning, for reimagining, and for implementing how we will do things in the future at , taking into account the precarious new reality we find ourselves in.

– the co-production of two audiovisual works with a grant of € 3,000 each
– the in-kind support of 5 audiovisual works

TV7: Sven Augustijnen
Thursday 30 April, 9:00–Friday 8 May, 9:00

TV7 presents Johan (2001) and François (2003), two early videos by Sven Augustijnen.

In both Johan and François we find Sven Augustijnen in a straightforward documentary filmmaking mode. The videos highlight therapy sessions undergone by patients suffering from aphasia, an illness that affects the language centres of the brain.

Nous sommes ravis d’annoncer une nouvelle initiative: THE 2020 OPEN CALL.

En ces temps difficiles, il est plus que justifié de revenir à l’improductivité. Cependant, nous avons voulu, malgré tout, lancer des nouvelles modalités par lesquelles organisera dans les années à venir l’aide à la production pour les artistes.

Par le biais de cet appel à projet, cherche fermement à soutenir des œuvres audiovisuelles atypiques qui sont généralement difficiles ou impossibles à être réalisées. Nous espérons que notre contexte institutionnel unique, qui engage tout le cycle de vie des œuvres audiovisuelles, de leur création à leur archivage, fournira un cadre stimulant pour les artistes.

Le format d’un appel à projet est nouveau pour , mais nous essayons de l’organiser le plus simplement possible. Vous pouvez lire tous les détails ci-dessous.

Nous nous réjouissons de lire vos projets!

Pendant ce temps, nous allons poursuivre notre programme hebdomadaire TV et préparer la réouverture de notre espace en septembre avec l’exposition de Tony Cokes.

Ce fut l’opportunité d’apprendre, de repenser et de mettre en œuvre la façon dont nous allons faire les choses à l’avenir à , en tenant compte de la nouvelle réalité précaire dans laquelle nous nous trouvons.

TV7 présente Johan (2001) et François (2003), deux des premières vidéos de Sven Augustijnen.

Dans Johan et François, Sven Augustijnen recherche une manière directe de réaliser des films documentaires. Les vidéos mettent en lumière les séances de thérapie suivies par les patients souffrant d’aphasie, une maladie qui affecte les zones cérébrales liées au langage.

Beste lezer,

We zijn verheugd om een nieuw initiatief te kunnen aankondigen: THE 2020 OPEN CALL.

In deze ongetwijfeld uitdagende tijden is het terugeisen van non-productiviteit meer dan gerechtvaardigd. Toch wilden we de nieuwe manieren waarop in de komende jaren productieondersteuning voor kunstenaars gaat organiseren lanceren, als een gelijktijdige stap voorwaarts.

Met deze open call zet sterk in op de ondersteuning van atypische audiovisuele werken die anders moeilijk of onmogelijk gerealiseerd zouden worden. We hopen dat onze unieke institutionele context, die de hele levenscyclus van audiovisuele kunstwerken omvat, van hun begin tot hun archivering, een stimulerend kader biedt voor kunstenaars om in te werken.

Het formaat van een open call is nieuw voor , maar we proberen het zo eenvoudig mogelijk te organiseren. Je kan hieronder alle details lezen.

We kijken uit naar de inzendingen!

In de tussentijd zetten we onze wekelijkse TV voort en bereiden we ons voor op de heropening van onze fysieke ruimtes in september met de Tony Cokes tentoonstelling.

Dit is een periode om te leren, om te heroverwegen en om te implementeren hoe we de dingen in de toekomst zullen doen bij , rekening houdend met de precaire nieuwe realiteit waarin we ons bevinden.

– de ondersteuning in natura van vijf audiovisuele werken

TV7 presenteert Johan (2001) en François (2003), twee vroege video’s van Sven Augustijnen.

In zowel Johan als François vinden we Sven Augustijnen in een rechttoe-rechtaan documentairefilmmodus. De video’s belichten therapiesessies van patiënten die lijden aan afasie, een ziekte die de taalcentra van de hersenen aantast.
