Beat Streuli – Chiasso 2014

In 2014, Beat Streuli has been invited to Chiasso to work on a project for the 9th Biennale dell’immagine in Chiasso. Chiasso is a border town located in the South of Switzerland, on the frontier to the Italian province of Lombardy. Lombardy has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and Chiasso and the surrounding region strongly fell victim to it as well. These days, the photos and videos taken in Chiasso by Beat Streuli seem like memories of another time. They witness street life and what it embeds, an open, unrestrained society, people going out, mingling casually – something we missed in the last few weeks and we hope will return again soon.
