Re-Converse #01
9 june – 30 september 2012 – Be-Mine, Koolmijnlaan 201, Beringen, BE

Group exhibition in the (former) power plant of the mine in Beringen with works by Liesje Reyskens, Kristof Vrancken, Pieter Geenen, Joris Perdieus, Patrick Ceyssens, Jonny Vekemans

My contribution to Re-Converse #01 is based on multiple wanderings through the power plant, over a period of two months. For the exhibition I have ordered material traces and fragments I found into a poetic and resonating coherence that does not try to match the scale and visual violence of the location but enters into a subtle dialogue with it. The installation is the fifth part of an ongoing series of works; Archive of the uncategorised (v).

High voltage / Onder hoogspanning
3 june – 26 august 2012 – Galerie De Mijlpaal, Brugstraat 45, Heusden-Zolder, BE

Group exhibition with works by Thorsten Fleisch, Nicola Evangelisti, Bart
Lens, Sara Bomans, Kristof Vrancken, Ick Reuvis, Philippe van
Gelooven, Timo van Luijk, Thomas Ruff), Jeroen Maes, Raeywen Turner,
Paul Fryer, Mo Ramakers, Peter De Koninck, Tim Vets, Els Vos, Monique
Thomaes, Peter Deleu

As a Manifesta parallel event this exhibition confronts the mining history of Limburg with contemporary art. My contribution consists of a communicating vessel with the installation in Beringen. The second half of Archive of the uncategorised (v) is shown as site-specific collection separated from its site.
