Fondation CAB Brussels is pleased to present its 39th artist in residence, Diogo Pimentão (b. 1973, Lisbon, Portugal).
Best known for his experimental works on paper, Diogo Pimentão’s practice challenges the traditional boundaries of drawing. He works primarily with paper and graphite, sometimes combined with video and performance, reflecting the aesthetic values of post-Minimalism. His works are notable for their inventive merging of medium and form. Rather than representing external concepts, they invite viewers to engage with the materiality of their components.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Open Studio on Saturday, March 7, from 12 pm to 6 pm at Fondation CAB Brussels, to meet the artist and discover the results of his three-month residency.

La Fondation CAB Bruxelles est heureuse de présenter son 39e artiste en résidence, Diogo Pimentão (né en 1973 à Lisbonne, Portugal).
Reconnu pour ses œuvres expérimentales sur papier, Diogo Pimentão repousse les frontières traditionnelles du dessin. Il travaille principalement avec le papier et le graphite, parfois combinés à la vidéo et à la performance, reflétant ainsi les valeurs esthétiques du post-minimalisme. Ses œuvres se distinguent par une fusion inventive du médium et de la forme. Plutôt que de représenter des concepts extérieurs, elles invitent le spectateur à s’interroger sur la matérialité de leurs composantes.
Nous serons ravis de vous accueillir à l’Atelier Portes Ouvertes le samedi 7 mars, de 12h à 18h, à la Fondation CAB Bruxelles, pour rencontrer l’artiste et découvrir le fruit de sa résidence de trois mois.

Fondation CAB Brussels presenteert met trots haar 39e artist-in-residence, Diogo Pimentão (geb. 1973, Lissabon, Portugal).
Diogo Pimentão staat vooral bekend om zijn experimentele werken op papier en daagt de traditionele grenzen van het tekenen uit. Hij werkt voornamelijk met papier en grafiet, soms gecombineerd met video en performance, en weerspiegelt daarmee de esthetische waarden van het postminimalisme. Zijn werken kenmerken zich door de inventieve samensmelting van medium en vorm. In plaats van externe concepten weer te geven, nodigen ze de kijker uit om de materialiteit van de componenten te ervaren.
We verwelkomen u graag op zaterdag 7 maart van [removed] tot [removed] uur in de Open Studio van Fondation CAB Brussels. Ontmoet de kunstenaar en ontdek de resultaten van zijn drie maanden durende residentie.

The exhibition, curated by Gregory Lang at Fondation CAB, establishes an unprecedented formal and conceptual dialogue. He presents a carefully selected group works by two American artists, from different generations, that leads visitors through a spatial form of abstraction situated between structure, surface, and architecture.
The display builds a dialogue between Nassos Daphnis‘s paintings (1914-2010)—characterized by expansive planes of primary color from different periods of his career, from the late 50’s to the 90’s—and Rita McBride‘s sculptures ([removed]), installations, and architectural models, from the last 30 years.

L’exposition de Gregory Lang, curateur invité à la Fondation CAB, propose un lien formel et conceptuel inédit entre une sélection d’œuvres essentielles de deux artistes américains, de différentes générations, qui nous conduisent à explorer une abstraction spatiale, entre structure, surface et architecture.
L’accrochage construit un dialogue entre peintures aux grands aplats étirés et colorés de Nassos Daphnis (1914-2010), couvrant plusieurs périodes, des années 50 aux années 90, et sculptures, installations ou maquettes architecturales, réalisées par Rita McBride (1960) au cours des 30 dernières années.

De tentoonstelling, samengesteld door Gregory Lang bij Fondation CAB, creëert een ongekende formele en conceptuele dialoog. Hij presenteert een zorgvuldig geselecteerde groep werken van twee Amerikaanse kunstenaars uit verschillende generaties, die de bezoekers meevoeren door een ruimtelijke vorm van abstractie, gelegen tussen structuur, oppervlak en architectuur.
De tentoonstelling bouwt een dialoog op tussen de schilderijen van Nassos Daphnis (1914-2010) – gekenmerkt door uitgestrekte vlakken van primaire kleuren uit verschillende periodes van zijn carrière, van eind jaren 50 tot de jaren 90 – en de sculpturen, installaties en architectuurmodellen van Rita McBride (1960) uit de afgelopen 30 jaar.

JEAN PROUVÉ – INVENTEUR DE MAISONS

Fondation CAB in Saint-Paul is dedicating an exhibition to Jean Prouvé, a major figure in 20th-century architecture and design, focusing on his founding ambition: to industrialize the act of building.
Bringing together photographic prints of emblematic buildings from the archives, spanning the 1930s to the 1970s, the exhibition unfolds a chronological journey tracing the evolution of Jean Prouvé’s architectural practice.
Rare prefabricated architectural elements — panels, brise-soleil, doors — testify to Prouvé’s technical inventiveness. A selection of furniture complements the ensemble.
The exhibition design and the selection of archives, furniture, and architectural elements are by the Downtown Gallery.

La Fondation CAB de Saint-Paul consacre une exposition à Jean Prouvé, figure majeure de l’architecture et du design du XXᵉ siècle, autour de son ambition fondatrice : industrialiser l’acte de construire.
Réunissant des tirages photographiques d’architectures emblématiques issus des archives, des années 1930 aux années 1970, l’exposition déploie un parcours chronologique de l’évolution des constructions de Jean Prouvé.
Des éléments d’architecture préfabriqués rares et iconiques — panneaux, brise-soleil, portes — témoignent de l’inventivité technique de Prouvé. Une sélection de mobilier vient compléter cet ensemble.
La mise en scène ainsi que la sélection d’archives, du mobilier, et des éléments architecturaux sont réalisées par la Galerie Downtown.

Fondation CAB in Saint-Paul wijdt een tentoonstelling aan Jean Prouvé, een belangrijke figuur in de 20e-eeuwse architectuur en vormgeving, met de focus op zijn oorspronkelijke ambitie: het industrialiseren van het bouwproces.
De tentoonstelling brengt fotografische afdrukken samen van emblematische gebouwen uit de archieven, daterend van de jaren 1930 tot de jaren 1970, en ontvouwt een chronologisch parcours dat de evolutie van Jean Prouvé’s architecturale praktijk belicht.
Zeldzame geprefabriceerde architecturale elementen — panelen, brise-soleil, deuren — getuigen van Prouvé’s technische inventiviteit. Een selectie meubelen vervolledigt het geheel.
De scenografie en de selectie van de archieven, het meubilair en de architecturale elementen zijn gerealiseerd door de Downtown Gallery.
