ABA RESIDENCY

This year we welcomed a wonderful cohort of residents: Lysann König (CH), Marijn Bril (NL), Sahar Salah (SD), Jacob Lambrecht (BE), Ilke Gers (NZ/NL), Deniz Eroglu (DK/NL) as well as our first Open Call resident Laura Arena (US). Thank you for the curious paths of thought, meaningful conversations and sharing your practices with us!

FIELD SCHOOL


Already the 9th edition of The Berlin Field School in the Contemporary Arts took place this year in collaboration with SFU School for Contemporary Arts, Vancouver. The research program includes visits to galleries, museums, performances, screenings, urban sites, and studio visits, along with discussions with a range of artists based in Berlin. This year’s Field School participants were pursuing BFA degrees in Dance, Theatre performance and Literature – thanks to all participants!

Opening up with Spiralling – a show by ABA Resident Lysann König – the year at Uq-Bar-A-Ba continued with At your fingertips I see my moving lips or not (Sylvia Henrich), Berlin–Wedding (Carsten Lisecki), It’s Okay Now (Isabelle Konrad & Gloria Müller), A Hidden Well (hosted by [removed]), Wo ist die Oper? (Katja Stoye-Cetin) and Dustings from the observatory (Ilke Gers). Thanks to all who took part and to Amanda Elena Conrad for running the programme at Uq-Bar-A-Ba.
