Summer is almost over the hill of its peak, and at the Q-O2 mother house in Brussels we are enjoying the different vibrancy of the half-empty city. Still, no matter where you, our dear public, dwell right now, here we are with a few announcements to cheer up the summer season for you even more: the heatwave during Oscillation ::: The Weather still causes the landscape on the horizon to shimmer today. The memories of four festival highlights can be revived, launched right now in form of online split albums, featuring the performances of Vanessa Rossetto, Soumaya Phéline, Ute Wassermann, and Yara Mekawei. Furthermore, in residency these days are Whitney Johnson (save the date for her post-residency presentation on August 14th) and Maika Garnica, and we have a couple of new things on the tekhnē plate, for you to listen, read, and watch.
Oscillation ::: The Weather – releases ———————— Vanessa Rossetto, Soumaya Phéline, Ute Wassermann, Yara Mekawei Q-O2’s umland editions present live recordings of four precious performances during Oscillation ::: The Weather: the cinematographic soundscapes of Vanessa Rossetto, the decomposed rhythms of Soumaya Phéline, the acoustic mimicries of Ute Wassermann, and the ritualistic textures of Yara Mekawei. The pieces, live recorded during the Festival in different spaces (BIS, Atelier 210, La Ch*****), are published now on two split albums, available online on our label umland editions on bandcamp.
Soumaya Phéline’s live-set @ Oscillation will also be released this autumn on record label Le Pacifique Records in the form of a cassette, including the recording of a jam session. [More info]
