Fondation CAB Brussels is pleased to present its 36th artist-in-residence, Marija Rinkevičiūtė-Špakauskė (1993, Lithuania), on Saturday, July 19, from 12 to 6 [removed];Marija creates abstract works using simple materials such as wax, plaster, wood, or dust. She is interested in memory, the fragility of things, and what fades away. Her paintings often resemble traces or inner landscapes, made of light and texture. For her, painting is a way to feel rather than to tell a silent language.

Fondation CAB Bruxelles est ravie de présenter sa 36e artiste en résidence, Marija Rinkevičiūtė-Špakauskė (1993, Lituanie), samedi 19 juillet de 12 à 18h. Marija crée des œuvres abstraites à partir de matériaux simples comme la cire, le plâtre, le bois ou la poussière. Elle s’intéresse à la mémoire, à la fragilité des choses et à ce qui disparaît. Ses tableaux ressemblent parfois à des traces ou des paysages intérieurs, faits de lumière et de texture. Pour elle, la peinture est une façon de ressentir plutôt que de raconter, comme un langage silencieux.

Ze is geïnteresseerd in geheugen, de kwetsbaarheid van dingen en wat langzaam verdwijnt. Haar schilderijen lijken soms op sporen of innerlijke landschappen, opgebouwd uit licht en textuur. Voor haar is schilderen een manier om te voelen in plaats van te vertellen een stille taal.

The Super Conceptual Pop exhibition takes as its starting point one of Brüggemann’s eponymous Show titles to champion a new, twisted chapter in the relationship between conceptual and pop aesthetics in contemporary creation. Through the works exhibited this twist offers a fresh approach to conceptual art, that simultaneously celebrates a form of nihilism, reminiscent of Dada, and exhibits itself in the realm of amusement and merchandise. A joyful conceptualism!

L’exposition Super Conceptual Pop prend comme point de départ l’un des Show titles éponyme de Bruggemann pour défendre un nouveau chapitre, tordu, des rapports entre les esthétiques conceptuel et pop dans la création contemporaine. À travers les œuvres exposées cette torsion offre une approche inédite de l’art conceptuel, qui s’attache tout à la fois à célébrer une forme de nihilisme, souvenir de Dada, et à s’exhiber dans le royaume de l’amusement et de la marchandise. Un conceptualisme joyeux !

De tentoonstelling Super Conceptual Pop begint met een van de Show Titles die dezelfde naam draagt van Brüggemann, om een nieuw hoofdstuk te verdedigen, een verdraaide visie, van de relatie tussen conceptuele en pop esthetiek in de hedendaagse kunst. Door de werken die worden tentoongesteld deze draai een ongekende benadering van conceptuele kunst, die zowel een vorm van nihilisme viert, een herinnering aan Dada, als zich tentoonstelt in het rijk van plezier en [removed];Een vrolijk conceptalisme!
